Cocoa Beach Chamber Champions Honored

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The Business Resource Council (BRC) of the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce presented its Business Champion of the Year Awards to 12 area companies at the 24th Annual Awards Ceremony on Friday, Sept. 28, at Holiday Inn Melbourne-Viera.
Over 265 chamber partners, along with their families and friends, regaled in the event’s theme “Where the Stars Shine.”
The event was Emceed by Brian Hawkins of GB Shelter Mortgage.
All nominees for the awards were recognized and representatives of the banquet’s major sponsors made presentations to the winners.
The winners included Minority Owned Champion – Island Boat Lines & Indian River Queen; Emerging Business -Taylor Plumbing Services, Inc.;Professional Services Champion – Blue Sky Insurance Agency.; Professional Services Champion – (20+ Employees) – ndtArtemis;Professional/Technical Services Champion – Space Coast Intelligent Solutions, Inc..; Non-For-Profit (1-20 Employees) – Volunteers of America of Florida; Non-For-Profit (20+ Employees) – Hospice of St. Francis; Services Industry Champion – Cocoa Kennels; Services Industry Champion (20+ Employees) – Courtenay Springs Village/Retirement Housing Foundation; Hospitality Champion (Food Industry) – Hayes Meats Gourmet Foods & Produce; Hospitality Champion (Hotel Industry) – International Palms Resort & Conference Center; Chamber Service Award – Aoy Trisophon, Owner of Taste of Thai Cuisine & Sushi Bar and Land & Sea Thai Fusion in Indian Harbour Beach.
Keith Ried of K.E.R. Bookkeepers, BRC Business Champion of the Year Awards Chair, made the evening a huge success with attendance topping that of previous years.
“It took a lot of hard work by several dedicated people to not only organize the awards ceremony, but to compile the nominations, evaluate the entries and make the difficult determination as to which companies would receive the honor of Business Champion of the Year,” said Ried.
“In light of the outstanding organizations that were nominated, choosing only one per category was not easy for our judges; they were all winners,” he said.

The Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce was established in 1968 and serves Cape Canaveral, Cocoa, Cocoa Beach, Kennedy Space Center, Merritt Island, Patrick Air Force Base, Port St. John, Rockledge, Palm Shores, Suntree and Viera.
