We stayed one night and our hostess Debbie made us feel very welcome. This is a family run bnb, and they have only been in business for threemonths so they are learning. The house was very clean and the bed was firm and comfortable. Great air conditioning for such a huge antebellum home. It was a quiet and relaxing stay. If I may add a suggestion I would recommend the bar be raised on breakfast even if she has to raise the rate. Breakfast was basic eggs, bacon, biscuit and bananas (tip: toss in lemon juice to keep from turning brown on edges) and strawberries. Hazel was very sweet to sit and visit with us and offer brochures as to area attractions. The room rate was great for such a beautiful room and ensuite bath and shower. I wish them much success with their bnb!

Make sure you stay here if you are ever in town. The best and most beautiful place anywhere around. Sit on the front porch and drink coffee or ice tea. The back yard has wildlife to view. The whole place is full of old oak trees, very photogenic.

Was heading to New Orleans for business and decided to spend Sunday at the Fairfax House instead of in the French Quarter. Good decision. Just what my wife and I needed. Enjoying coffee on the big porch in rocking chairs. Grounds covered by giant trees draped with spanish moss. Cheryl, the inn keeper, did everything she could to make us comfortable. Hope to go back one day.

I stayed for 2 nights in November during a 21 night road trip, which included 4 ‘heritage’ properties, so this review is relatively objective. Easily found on the outskirts of town. Plenty of parking. Lovely classic location, well set back from the road. Beautiful old house which has been sympathetically maintained, but has lost non of its rich character. The Inn Keeper, Cheryl, was a delight and so helpful. My large, old school bedroom was perfect. Clean, well equipped and comfortable. The air con was of the old fashioned ‘floor vent’ from a central unit type - seemed effective enough. Lovely high ceiling, boarded floor etc Good breakfast standard, with eggs cooked to order if required. A good base for exploring the surrounding area - I only intended to stay for the one night, but enjoyed the ambiance so much stayed for two. Highly recommended

An absolutely beautiful house... The manager, Cheryl, is just wonderful. Pleasant, cheerful, very helpful. She was a joy to get to know. the house is wonderfully decorated and the front porch rockers look out onto one of the shadiest front lawns I've seen in years. great place for an evening cocktail and chatting with friends. Strolling the town main street in the evening is a treat with the antebellum street lights in full glow.

If you love old historical houses and furniture, the house and furniture alone are worth the trip from New Orleans to Franklin. Once there of course there is much more to explore in the vicinity. I was there on business and wanted to be close to the courthouse. It was about 1/2 mile away. The innkeeper was wonderful and thought of my every need, including providing instructions for Wi-Fi and bottled water for my journey home.

My wife and I took a little getaway to this beautiful Bed & Breakfast. It was such a relaxing and enjoyable experience. The house is gorgeous and the innkeeper was very kind and friendly. She makes you feel like you are at home with family. The Jacuzzi was wonderful the room was very clean and pleasant. I highly recommend this place. Its only about 30 minutes from Lafayette and the price is very affordable.

We recently had the opportunity to host our family prior to our wedding at the Fairfax House. Our innkeeper, Cheryl, was incredible. Our every need was met and some needs she met without us even realizing that we had a need! The rooms were beautifully appointed and comfortable. And the food! Did I mention that Cheryl is an incredible cook? Our weekend at the Fairfax House was just perfect and would highly recommend this B&B to everyone. Helpful hint #1: There are two rooms available downstairs for folks who don't wish to go up and down the stairs. Helpful hint #2: Fairfax House is pet-friendly!

I was fortunate to have my 60th birthday party at the Fairfax House in November/17. I've been to Fairfax a couple times and couldn't think of a more special place to celebrate this milestone. I traveled with 10 friends and we booked in for 2 nights stay. The Innkeeper, Cheryl, made everything perfect. She had refreshments on the front porch to greet us when we arrived. She assisted with all the arrangements for the catered dinner the night of my birthday. Her recommendations for catering and all the special little touches like flower arrangements, and a lovely table setting made this a party to remember. My friends all agreed that this was a very special place. Thanks in no small part to Cheryl. Can't wait to return!

We spent a night here on our way back from a Avery Island tour. We happened to be the only guests the night we were there, so innkeeper Cheryl gave us the choice of rooms even though we had booked the Fairfax Suite. Turns out we prefer the rooms on the first floor because of the high ceilings and easier access. Cheryl was friendly and helpful, giving us info on the area. We had a quiet comfortable sleep. Then enjoyed a delicious full breakfast of fresh fruit, eggs, hash browns, bacon and breads. This would be an awesome place to bring a family or group for a cozy getaway.
