Mesotherapy
Overview
Mesotherapy is a breakthrough therapy for getting rid of fat and cellulite. It involves injecting microscopic quantities of natural extracts, homeopathic agents, pharmaceuticals, and vitamins into the skin. Mesotherapy is considered the "homerun" of the cosmetic world, rivaling what liposuction does for plastic surgery. This cosmetic treatment can also spot-reduce fat in specific areas.

How Mesotherapy works
How Mesotherapy Works
The combination of medications, vitamins, and amino acids are formulated to meet your specific needs. These work by being injected in small amounts into targeted areas, breaking down fat cells beneath the skin surface and preventing them from storing fat. Fat released into the body is metabolized during exercise. To achieve the best results, only one or two areas should be treated at a time to allow your body to metabolize this fat properly.

Mesotherapy improves blood flow to the treated area, dissolves excess fat deposits, removes hardened fibrotic connective tissue, and improves lymphatic drainage. Sessions are used alongside exercise and diet regimens rather than as an alternative to them.

What to Expect
Mesotherapy needles are small, about the size of an eyelash. The smallest possible micro-injections are used, causing minimal discomfort. The time required for this procedure is 10–30 minutes, depending on the size of the treated area. After treatment, there is no downtime, and you can resume normal activities.

Treatment programs are customized for each patient, so the number of treatments varies from person to person. Some patients see results after the first treatment, while others see results after 4–8 treatments. The results become visible as you, your family, and your friends notice your clothes becoming looser and your figure appearing thinner. Mesotherapy results are measured in loss of inches rather than pounds.

Patients are advised to not wear makeup for at least 4 hours after facial treatments, and to not take hot showers for at least 6–8 hours. We recommend that patients eat a high-protein meal and avoid caffeine or other stimulants before treatment.

Effectiveness and Results
Mesotherapy results vary depending on your body type and the condition being treated. On average, patients notice visible improvement in 2–3 sessions; for certain conditions, patients see results after the first session. The results are long-lasting, especially when combined with exercise and proper nutrition. However, as with many cosmetic treatments, regular maintenance visits may be needed every 6–12 months as the natural aging process continues.

Candidates for Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy is best for people who have specific areas of fat that not even a healthy diet and exercise regimen can solve. Candidates may wish to reduce the targeted fat pocket(s) gradually without the expense and downtime associated with liposuction, or the area(s) may be too small for such an invasive surgical procedure.

However, Mesotherapy is not for everyone, including those with a history of stroke, recent cancer, or blood clots. If you are pregnant, are an insulin-dependent diabetic, or are on multiple medications for heart disease, you cannot receive Mesotherapy treatment.

Possible Side Effects
Side effects of Mesotherapy are usually mild and temporary. You may experience warmth and itching for an hour or so after treatment. You may also experience tenderness, swelling, or redness for a few days after the injections. Any soreness will subside within 1–2 days, and bruising generally resolves over one week.

In most cases, a nodule develops and recedes on its own over the next several weeks; this is a sign that the medications are breaking down your fat cells. Rarely do allergic reactions to ingredients in the mesotherapy injections occur.
