More dumplings, please?
That was a question often heard in our Chinese household growing up. During family dinners, our parents would use dumplings as bargaining tools to entice us to eat more veggies. Not only did these little pillows of goodness have vegetables in them already, Mom would pair them with fresh greens to enhance a healthy diet for her 3 growing boys.
For a good ole’ Chinese meal, we were enlisted to help Mom with washing, chopping, shredding, mixing, and enfolding dozens of fresh dumplings. Then we would sit around the kitchen table individually hand-wrapping each one to later dip in her variety of secret sauces. Mom always kept her recipes interesting with her secret arsenal of homemade seasoning. If we clamored for more delicious dumplings, then she always served them with a steaming side of nutritious vegetables, cleverly tossed in flavorful dressing.
We quickly realized this wholesome tradition would benefit any and all eaters, so we are bringing this winning combination of dumplings and veggies to all our diners who know and appreciate good food. Our dishes are authentic to the organic and sustainable goodness we grew up on, and we are so excited to be able to share our handcrafted creations with like-minded, hungry people. We are what we eat, so let’s eat real food.
