Located in northern Utah, Ogden is a city of 80,000 backed by the Wasatch peaks of Mt. Ogden, Lewis Peak and Ben Lomond. The town is known for its outdoor recreation, including skiing at nearby Snowbasin and Powder Mountain, hiking from trailheads that are minutes from downtown and boating and fishing on local waterways. When the weather takes a turn for the worse, however, there are several places to entertain yourself indoors.
Toad's Fun Zone
Located in northern Ogden, just minutes from Interstate 15, Toad's Fun Zone (toadsfsz.com) is an amusement center that has an 18-hole indoor miniature golf course. Decorated in jungle decor and illuminated by black lights, the course is called "Paradise Ruins." In addition to the indoor course, there is a 36-hole outdoor miniature golf course, a driving range, batting cages and go-karts. Indoor attractions include an arcade and the Fire and Ice Laser Tag center.
Fat Cats
Located in the heart of downtown Ogden, Fat Cats (fatcatsfun.com) is an amusement center that offers a 9-hole indoor miniature golf course. In addition to mini-golf, there are arcade games, a bowling alley and billiards. Fat Cats is also located in the middle of the Salomon Center, which offers adventure activities like iFly indoor skydiving, FlowRider indoor surfing and a climbing wall. For parents dropping their kids off at the center, there is a movie theater across the street plus shopping and dining options in the area.
Sparetime Family Fun Center
Located in neighboring Roy, Sparetime (sparetime-ut.com) is another family entertainment complex that has a mini-golf course. The 18-hole black-light course is called "Galactic Golf." It features a number of themes, including underwater creatures, jungle terrain and dinosaurs. Besides mini-golf, Sparetime has an arcade, billiards, bowling and outdoor batting cages.
Brigham City Family Fun Center
Brigham City is about a half-hour north of Ogden off of I-15. The Brigham City Family Center (brighamcitybowling.com) offers 18 lanes of bowling, billiards and a 9-hole indoor mini-golf course. The fun center is a smoke-free, alcohol-free environment. "Galactic Bowling" is hosted on Friday and Saturday nights. Mini-golf costs just $2 per person, a fraction of what the other indoor mini-golf centers in the area charge.
