Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, a Garden for all seasons, provides guests a chance to reconnect with nature. The breathtaking Visitor Pavilion welcomes visitors to 30 acres of spectacular gardens including a children’s garden, a conservatory dedicated to the display of tropical plants and orchids, a Dry Piedmont Prairie, annual and perennial displays, sparkling fountains, walking trails and more.

Four Seasons Garden

Located just outside the Visitor Pavilion, the Four Seasons Garden is truly “a garden for all seasons.” A symphony of colors, shapes and textures that provide interest any time of year.

White Garden

The intimate Nellie Rhyne Stowe White Garden provides a backdrop for the perfect event featuring white blooms and silvery foliage just outside the stately boardroom.

Cottage Garden

The sweet scents of the Cottage Garden take you back to grandma’s house. Spectacular in spring, it showcases popular plants of the late 19th and early 20th centuries including a nostalgic collection of bulbs, perennials, trees and shrubs.

Canal Garden

Ragan Canal Garden, stretching 100 yards, features a water spectacle bordered by ever-changing seasonal gardens highlighted by a fountain at each end. Summer boasts bold tropical ginger, bananas, elephant ears, palms and hibiscus.

Lost Hollow

Constructed in 2014, Lost Hollow: The Kimbrell Children’s Garden is a place where children of all ages begin a new journey of fascination and adventure. It’s nestled between manicured gardens and old forest featuring an amphitheater, sunken pond, Moonkeep, play spaces and more for the imagination.

Perennial Gardens

This winding space includes Magnolia Allée and Tunnel Fountain, a spiral of plants and fountain in Scroll Garden, a display of ribbon beds in Ribbon Garden, Crown Fountain surrounded by crape myrtles in Crown Garden, color-themed pools in Serpentine Garden, and an eclectic blend of cone-bearing plants in Conifer Garden.

William H. Williamson, III, Orchid Conservatory

The William H. Williamson, III, Orchid Conservatory is the Carolinas’ only 8,000-square-foot, five-story glass house dedicated to a display of orchids and tropical plants. Discover a waterfall, showy blooming orchids and tropical plants like a cocoa tree, vanilla orchid and orchid tree.

Garden Trails

Discover 3.2 miles of walking trails around the Garden! Persimmon Trail, located off the parking lot, is a short trail that connects with the Carolina Thread Trail. Maintained by the Carolina Lands Conservancy, the Thread Trail meanders along Lake Wylie and connects with Meadowood Walk.
