The Range at Lake Norman is proud to offer an ever-expanding array of classes taught by certified instructors on our staff. Below are just a few of their bios.

Keith Lynch:

Keith brings a lifetime of passion for shotguns to The Range. When an acquaintance of his father invited the family to try Trap Shooting, young Keith was immediately hooked on this sport he could share with his father and brother. He loves his Berretta 12 Gauge Competition shotguns, but treasures his late father’s original Remington 1100. Keith is an NRA certified Pistol and Shotgun instructor who remains passionate about bringing new shooters into the sport and thrives on working with everyone from beginners to pros. Keith is available for personal instruction.

Sharon Dixon:

Sharon has been a firearms enthusiast for many years. As a young adult, she participated in small game hunting with her father and continued the tradition with her son. Her professional career began in mortgage banking but had a change of heart when her son, Garrett, encouraged her to pursue her interest in shooting sports. Now, Sharon is an active volunteer with the United Service Organization for veterans, and is an NRA member. She is certified as an NRA Range Safety Officer and NRA Basic Pistol Instructor. Sharon also holds certifications in First Aid/CPR and participates on the Board of Crime Stoppers for Mecklenburg County.

Mike Cupp:

Mike is an avid hunter and firearms enthusiast since boyhood many, many, many years ago, Mike comes to us from a construction background, where he holds licenses as a General Contractor and Home Inspector. Finding those pursuits too much like actual work, he was driven to pursue his passion for shooting, as well as the exercise and protection of our second amendment rights, and joined our staff in December 2012. When not at the range, Mike can often be found in the forests and streams of the Green River Game Lands, bow, gun or rod in hand, where he hunts and fishes (more than his wife is comfortable with.) Mike excels at making new shooters feel both safe and at ease with a combination of an easy wit, and a no nonsense approach to firearms technique and safety. Certified in first aid and as NRA Basic Pistol instructor and Range Safety officer, Mike teaches NRA first Steps, NRA Basic Pistol, and is available for personal instruction.
