Look Around Beermiscuous, the New 'Craft Beer Cafe' on Lincoln

Tomorrow, Chicago will officially have its first "craft beer cafe" when Beermiscuous opens to the public. A combination of extensive craft beer retail shop and cafe/bar, its meant to be a place for craft beer fans to chill coffee shop-style or pick up a myriad mix-and-match beers to go.

When you enter, there's an abundance of coolers where single beers from notable to obscure are arranged alphabetically. Make your selections using a chart on the wall and empty six-pack boxes and bring them to a center counter where attendants will ring up your choices and pour them in glassware, if you're drinking on-site. There's also a small bar with 12 taps, mostly from local breweries.

The space angles back after that, where small tables are set against the walls and situated in front of a fireplace. One large communal table and two love seats set against rear floor-to-ceiling windows finish off the seating. The design features glazed brick and new woodwork.

Food is not cooked on-site but ownership is quick to point out the many take-out and delivery options nearby and Beermiscuous' extremely friendly outside food policy. Wi-fi is available and the hours run from noon until 10 p.m. on most days.

Will the "beer cafe" concept take off? Check it out tomorrow and decide for yourself.
