4.0 out of 5 stars. Expedition but 2016 modelReviewed by MC from Colorado on Wednesday, December 5, 2018These are the TSL 305 Expedition but the older 2016 model which is now sold as the Excursion model ( also here on STP website) . The newer Expedition version does have extra stainless steel grips running along base of snow shoe. See TSL website.
However I've used the old model in back country here in CO on continental divide without any problems. So for casual use are perfect IMHO especially for the price on STP
Best thing about all TSL snow shoes is the binding which doesn't need messing about with every time you take them on and off. Plus they very light and compact , but still robust being made out same stuff riot shields are made from. -
2.0 out of 5 stars. Bad Snow/Ice TractionReviewed by Leadville Lady from Colorado on Thursday, January 25, 2018The only steel snow/ice traction is located on the cleat at the toe. There are no other metal cleats on the bottom of the snowshoe. No additional cleats were included with the snowshoes. A close-up look at the picture shows what's shipped. I needed a snowshoe that would have good traction on hills and ice. This snowshoe didn't meet my needs so I returned it. Thanks STP for your good return policy.

2.0 out of 5 stars. NOT the Expedition model!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Oregonian from N.E. Oregon on Tuesday, January 9, 2018On TSL's website, the Expedition model is shown with metal cleats running along the sides of the bottom. These snowshoes have no such thing. Needed them to tackle steep slope and back county terrain. These snowshoes appear fine for trail use, and flat country. But they are NOT suited for much else. Elegant bindings. Since they were not suited for my intended use, sent them back. Good service from STP. Thanks for that!
