Stubbys was a neat place to drink at amazing atmosphere, drinks were at a good price I'd recommend trying the house drinks or the strawberry cider! We had nachos with pulled pork air came with a glob of sour cream and a glob of guac very delightful and I was able to share with my two guest and we were all satisfied. To end the night they had $1 pool table amazing place to take photos and friendly staff

Stubbys is a fantastic spot to check out if you love beer or want to try new ones. They have 53 beers on tap and the staff are great at recommending new things to try based on what you like! They'll let you try smaller samples so you don't end up with a beer you don't like. I've never had a good option I didn't enjoy and there's a number of vegetarian options available as well. Their black bean burger is a favorite of mine! The bar is large and their patio is fantastic and overlooks the river!

I had a grilled cheese sandwich and it was really good! I also had an Oreo milkshake and that was good too.
Then after we played some pool. I've started playing pool with my roommates and I've been kinda bad at it and so I practiced hitting the ball for a good half hour or hour. It was so fun. I'll probably play pool more at the dorms though. But super fun here too because it wasn't busy. Would definitely go back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 7, 2022
Stubmuffin....
Not stud muffin. Went to Stubbys for lunch on Saturday and they have s brunch menu until 3PM which I really liked because I tend to sleep in on the weekends but still want breakfast type of food even at lunch.
The very first item on the brunch menu is their specialty: The Stubmuffin! It's a breakfast sandwich with eggs, your choice of bacon or sausage, and an English muffin. It's actually a pretty big sandwich and comes with tater tots.
We sat at the bar and greeted by Brad the bartender, who introduced himself and shook our hands. You don't see that at a lot of bars, so it made us feel more at home and relaxed.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Claudia K.New York, NY546102Oct 23, 2022
I decided to do Sunday brunch here and enjoy some football since the weather was so nice out for Fall. Stubbys has indoor and outdoor and I will say that I enjoy the outdoor atmosphere a lot more since the restaurant is on the lake & you can enjoy the beautiful foliage and watch some tv! I ordered the two eggs over easy with toast, bacon and tater tots and it was just ok, nothing special. The Bloody Mary was pretty good & I always enjoy a decorative drink. I'd come back for the drinks & atmosphere.

I've been to Stubby's a handful of times, mostly for sporting events. This time was no different... Go Pack Go!
I went with my husband and some friends to catch the first half of the Packer game. We were sat at a four top with plenty of large screen TVs in view. Our server was great and super attentive. She let us know Central Waters was on special which included being entered into a raffle to win tickets to Lambeau (fingers crossed!). My husband had a few beers, including a yummy Porter I had a taste of. Their beer selection is massive, which I normally indulge in, but my girlfriend and I were feeling wine so we split a bottle of Pinot.
Stubby's also has a fairly large food menu with lots of pub fare to pick from. The four of us ordered their cheese curds as something to snack on, and dang are those things huge and oh so gooey. I'd already eaten dinner so I skipped an entree, but out friends seems to really enough the black bean burger.
All in all, its a fun (large) spot, with a great atmosphere. No doubt we'll continue coming back.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Oct 16, 2019
We went to watch my Spartans lose to Wisconsin on Saturday 10/12/19.
We shared quesadillas w/ bbq pork- yes!!
Later, my husband had cheese curds- he said they were good.
I had a blk bean burger, no mayo, side salad w/ 1000 island dressing. The 1000 island is unique and pretty alright and the coleslaw is terrible. Thankfully, the blk bean burger is tasty!!
Our server was a sweet girl that engaged in light/pleasant conversation with us.
We were able to parallel park right outside/in front of the restaurant- not sure where everyone else parks.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Anastacia C.Milwaukee, WI23121Jul 1, 2021
Top reason why I enjoy Stubby's: the covered patio. There is ample amount of space for large groups, televisions for sport events, and the outdoor heaters. How many sports bars offer that?!
The waitress with the black, curly hair is the sweetest person ever. She is always greeting people with a smile! The wide beer selection is obviously a perk and (currently) the grub menu accommodates plant-based options.
You will leave belly full!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Augie R.Milwaukee, WI1691013413Apr 18, 2021
We visited Stubby's Gastropub for outdoor drinking and dining on a chilly spring day. Stubby's is taking pandemic safety quite seriously--they have heaters outside and wiped down the table and chairs before seating us.
Stubby's has a terrific beer selection, and the food is very good. The beer-battered cheese curds were a rich and tasty delight, and the deep-fried brussel sprouts tossed in house seasoning and Parmesan cheese were very good. I wasn't as excited by the King Cobb Salad, which could've used more cheddar, avocado, and bacon. (This might be my fault--I didn't like the tomato and thyme vinaigrette and should've asked for a different dressing option.)
Stubby's is located in a somewhat strange location. The building looks more like an office building. It's located on the northeast corner of Humboldt and the Milwaukee River. There's parking underneath the building on Riverboat Road, but we couldn't find a way to access Stubby's (on the second floor) via the building's elevator. The front door is located up a flight of stairs on the west side of the building, facing Humboldt.
The patio is very nice with pleasant views of the river. Service was very good, as well.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 3827664851Jan 4, 2019Updated review
Still my FAVORITE brewpub in Milwaukee! It's time for a proper upgrade to 5 stars! Best beer club around, great happy hour specials and a kitchen that kicks ass, Stubby's is a gem in Riverwest that is a force to be reckoned with. Plus the entire waitstaff is solid and will make sure your experience is right!
50 plus beers on tap says it all! Just get here and enjoy the atmosphere. Also summers on the patio are a must! I can tell no more secrets about this place you just find out on your own.
I LOVE Stubby's!Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 0Mar 4, 2016Previous reviewHard not to love Stubby's. It's a gastropub meaning they serve high-end beer and food. Stubby's lives up to that and then some. With over 50 beers on tap, no typo there, yes 53 to be exact, they will have a brew to satisfy even the fussiest of beer snobs. My particularly favorite nite is Thursday, $3 off all taps. Having over 50 beers on tap means you rotate constantly. They do just that switching up the selection on a regular basis. The wait staff is also very helpful and fun to vibe with, which adds to the Stubby's charm.
Happy hour is a killer time to pop in as a lot of their food is on special. Favorite foods include: Stubby's one of a kind, oh so delicious, cheese curds. Also love the meatloaf sandwich! Really good stuff here! The pork sliders are phenomenal as well as the Friday fish fry is one of the best in MKE. They also have some truly unique french fry, tater tot combinations worth trying. To simply put it, Stubby's has good food all around.
Check out the deck overlooking the river in the spring, summer, fall. One of the better decks to spend late nights on. There's not many places in town that are the total package like Stubby's.
