The Broker Restaurant Review:

This Denver landmark --- launched in 1972 --- is housed in a former bank building vault, making it one of the more unusual restaurant settings in the city. Today, old-school Victorian ambience and traditional American West dining replace the valuables and important papers. The Broker, however, has a longstanding tradition of its own --- a complimentary bowl of chilled peel-and-eat shrimp that has endeared the house to many. It’s a wonderful touch that weighs in at over a pound; we like it. The place also serves up other riches, including an encyclopedic wine roster, oysters Rockefeller, crab cakes, lobster ravioli and protein-heavy plates of meat and seafood. Filets come in beef and buffalo versions; the dry-aged porterhouse is massive; and the slabs of sesame seed-coated tuna and Parmesan-crusted salmon are also popular. Some snicker that this is a dining den past its prime, with old-school food relying on bygone glory. But longtime locals and big business lunch and dinner crowds don’t seem to agree.
