About

PAUL RODGERS IN CONCERT:

Legendary British rocker Paul Rodgers has one of the most impressive voices in rock music. From his time fronting bands like Free and Bad Company to his recent stint singing with Queen, Rodgers has remained a legend for his tough-as-nails voice and colorful showmanship. On tour in 2013, he made it clear that time has done nothing to mellow his vocal prowess, flooring fans with classic hits from his catalog alongside soul covers that showcased his prodigious range. With a new album due out in 2014, Rodgers is in peak form for his upcoming tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Middlesborough, UK, Paul Rodgers found early fame as frontman of British blues rock band Free, the outfit behind 1970 classic rock staple and international No. 1 "All Right Now." While the band's commercial success at one point rivaled that of Led Zeppelin, their star waned, and in 1973 Rodgers founded supergroup Bad Company with members of Mott the Hoople and King Crimson. With Rodgers at the helm, Bad Company enjoyed tremendous success throughout the '70s and early '80s, releasing six platinum albums and racking up some of the most beloved classic rock hits of the era. Following his departure from the band in 1982, Rodgers has continued to record and perform as a solo artist, as well as embark on a five-year collaboration with Queen from 2004-2009.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Paul Rodgers was simply fantastic. Entire band rocked! I never sat down during entire concert. The guy sounds better now than he did 30 years ago."

"His voice was amazing. Like time traveling Bad Company and Free heydays. I would see him again definitely."

"As usual Paul Rogers put on a smokin' show. He really plays for the crowd and you can tell he enjoys it. The voice is as good as ever covering all the hits from his past bands."

Not what I was hoping for.

by mightymight on 10/13/18Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

I saw Paul at the same venue some 5 or so years ago. He was amazing! He came out for many encores! It seemed as long as the crowd was up for more so was he. My middle son and I go to concerts together, that's our thing. So when I saw that Paul was coming back I just had to take my son to this show. I really talked it up to my son leading up to the show. The band played for just over an hour doing one encore that was basically just part of the concert. I was very disappointed! It was nothing like I had been telling my boy to expect for the months leading up to the show. I realize Paul is 70 some years old but we put a lot of effort into getting to the show not to mention the price of the tickets. I was expecting just a LITTLE more. It was great spending the time with my boy but I wish it would have been the show that my son would never forget! I still love you Paul, your music and you are a rock and roll legend but I will not be coming to see you again.

    Paul Rodgers

by ObiJuanKenobi on 10/8/18Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

The Voice was excellent this evening. He sang mostly Bad Company songs and two current members of Bad Company are touring with him so it was like Paul Company show. He did perform Satisfaction Guaranteed from The Firm and I could of gone home then. That song was a highlight for me. He preformed Alright Now from Free as his encore. The show was somewhat short but it was a good show. The venue is good and not to intrusive as many of them are becoming.

Second time at this Venue seeing Paul Rodgers

by cneajna on 10/4/18Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

Another great concert from a great artist. My only wish would be to have him add the song "Seagull" to the set list. If you've never seen Paul Rodgers in concert I highly recommend him.

Great concert. Only problem was they didn't accept credit or debit cards for merchandise. Big problem.

Paul Rodgers and the boys in the band

by JWHOLMES on 10/2/18Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

Music was phenomenal. Paul still has an amazing voice. His band was top notch. I saw Bad Company in high school. I am sixty and he took me back to another day in time. My wife and I had a fantastic memorable time.

    paul rogers

The event was ok I guess. The tickets were a bit steep in price, We shelled out about $250.00 just for the tickets. Paul Rogers only played for about an hour which may seem ample to some but we had really hoped he would play at least a few more tunes since there was no warm up band and it felt like we had barely gotten seated and the concert was already over. I understand that no band can or will play all of the songs you want to hear but I've been to a whole lot of concerts over many decades and this was the shortest concert I've ever been too. It really was disappointing to all of us. This is the 3rd time I've seen Paul Rogers in concert. Starting in the 70's with Bad Co. then saw Paul in 2010 and then this Sept 29, 2018 concert. Also we wish the seating was staggered. Because of assigned seating instead of festival seating you couldn't see half of the concert either the stage or on the 2 screens because of all the people standing up in front of you. I had my 2 sons with me who grew up listening to Bad Co. and so many other great classic rock bands so I really wanted this to be a great show since they had never been to a concert with me before ( this was my youngest sons 1st concert) and because they are both over 6ft tall if they tried to stand to see around the people standing in front of us then the people behind us complained that they couldn't see around my sons. Also the chairs are so close together you are darn near sitting on top of one another. Ridiculously cramped and hot.Over all I give the concert a 3 star rating. Paul sounded as good as he always has but the short duration of the concert and the poor seating put a real damper on it. I will always listen to Paul Rogers and Bad Co. music but don't know if I will ever go see him in concert again. Sad really because I've been a huge fan of his since I was 13 years old way back in the mid 1970's.
