2Up for bawdy burlesque? St. Petersburg Nights, the Russian restaurant at 6800 Sunset Way, St. Pete Beach, is having a Big Bang Burlesque Dinner Show at 7 p.m. May 18. It will be saucy — but, promoters say, good clean classic cabaret fun — with musical and dance performances, twirling tassels, flying feathers and wild antics accompanied by a three-course meal, full bar and a large dance floor. $50. stpetersburgnights.com.

1Want to swing your club like Rory McIlroy or drop it in the cup for a birdie like Luke Donald? Okay, okay, but you might want to at least improve your game before the relatives come down. For $25, golf cognoscenti will give you a 60-minute swing analysis or a 30-minute putting evaluation and offer some pointers. When you're done, they'll tell you how you can watch a video of yourself online. By appointment. Edwin Watts Golf Academy, 11921 N Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, (813) 264-4653.

3Get rid of the scorched earth look: Learn how to plant things that will actually grow (read: survive) in your yard at a Florida-friendly landscaping class from 2 to 3:30 p.m. May 25 at St. Petersburg Main Library, 3745 Ninth Ave. N. There also will be a discussion of the fertilizer ban and its effects. Register by May 24 for this free event. pinellascountyextension.org or (727) 582-2100.

5Hear the bells on Mother's Day: Grab your mom, your kids or someone else's mom for a free afternoon of Bach to Broadway musicals at the annual Eckerd College Spring (choral, concert and bell-ringer) Concert at 3 p.m. May 13 in Wireman Chapel at the college, 4200 54th Ave. S, St. Petersburg. If you get there 15 or 20 minutes in advance, you should have no problem finding a seat, a college spokesperson said. eckerd.edu/events.

4Get an early peek at an amazing reef without even getting wet: Florida Craftsmen will be working on the Crochet Coral Reef from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 6 at Florida Botanical Gardens' "Diggin' the Arts" show at 12520 Ulmerton Road, Largo. You can also color reproductions of Georgia O'Keeffe's The Poppy at the Museum of Fine Arts' booth, watch watercolor artists and potters at work at the Dunedin Fine Art Center booth, make sun catchers with the Morean Arts Center or get "(Andy) Warholized" (you'll have to go to find out what this is) with the Leepa/Ratner Museum. flbgfoundation.org/events_cultivating_the_arts.
