No Walls? No Prob

On Sept. 2, the Fern Ridge Chamber of Commerce and the City of Veneta opened the doors of their new venture, Wineries Without Walls.

Tasting Room Coordinator Vicki Piva, the, says participating wineries must make wine in a facility; use grapes that are grown; or hold a winery license within a 25-mile radius of Veneta.

The shop’s location, 24949 Hwy. 126, Veneta, is central to most Southern Willamette Valley vineyards and wineries and is easily accessible for both tourists and locals.

Participating wineries include: Kandarian Wine Cellars, Capitello Wines, J. Scott Cellars, Patchwork Cellars, Abbelone, McBeth/Spencer Creek Vineyard, Chateau Lorane, 5H, William Rose Wines, Stanton Vineyard, Lone Oak Vineyards and Noble Estate and more.

Wineries Without Walls will be open Fridays and Saturdays, noon to 7 p.m., and Sundays, noon to 5 p.m., with wine tastings on Friday nights and Saturdays, 4 to 6 p.m.

Besides wine, the tasting room will also offer some wine-related art, food items and crafts. For more information, call 541-935-8443.
