THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Campagnola Trattoria Restaurant Review:
One of Westwood’s more charming and laid-back eateries, Campagnola offers many familiar dishes along with some classics from the owner’s native Sardinia. After fried calamari and zucchini or baked polenta bathed in a Gorgonzola sauce, diners turn to house-made pastas like malloreddus (gnocchi-shaped) in rich lamb sauce and mezzaluna (half-moons) stuffed with butternut squash. Other options include a fine osso buco, fresh fish or lamb chops in a red wine-rosemary reduction. Finish with blueberry panna cotta or tiramisu. The Cal-Italian wine list is not long, but offers some interesting finds and is very reasonably priced. Linen-clad tables and polished wood lend a touch of simple elegance to this cozy neighborhood spot. There’s also a pleasant patio for outdoor dining.
