Housed in one of the oldest buildings in Downtown Denver (est. 1863) is LoDo's most historic pub. Originally built as a saloon and boarding house, the Blake Street Vault is still the place for good drinks, great food and genuine Colorado hospitality. Our original signature cocktail, the Moscow Mule, was inspired by 19th century ginger ale bottles found during excavations in the basement, and we offer Specialty Mules. Come in and try Lodo's best Happy Hour and ask for a tour of the haunted Vault, the once-hidden large vault that has been the home of our resident ghost for over a century.

Comfy and casual, with a unique history - like an old bathrobe.
Walk in and sit wherever you like; plenty of tables and booths. Our friendly waittress went way out of her way to answer menu Q's, and when we asked about the 'haunted underground vault' - she even took us to the basement on an impromptu tour! Major bonus points to Nikki for that! Thanks!
The drink menu centets on Moscow Mule variants, but they also have other good drinks. The Pimms mixed drink (not Pimm's beer) was particularly good, and my wife liked the Choco-Martini!
Good appetizers included the Fried Cheese Curds and the potato skins, but both are much smaller than we are used to - start with 2 of each if you have friends.
From the street; this place looks like a dive bar. Heck; from the upstairs lounge it looks divey. But it has a way-cool history, and we liked it! Thumbs up!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 14, 2016
ROCKY MOUNTAIN OYSTERS!!! Prior to coming to Denver, I yelped rocky mountain oysters and was surprised that not many places serve it.
I did not plan on coming here but randomly walked in because the Warriors game was showing and they had an open table. Then I remembered they had the oysters!
Service was friendly. We got seated quickly.
Draft Beers - $5 - Cannot remember what I ordered but they were only 5 bucks.
Rocky Mountain Oysters - $9 - No they are not real oysters, they deep fried balls, bull testicles! Really surprised that it was not gross. Texture was similar to squid but just a little more grainy. Dipped in the ketchup, you would think you were eating a big piece of calamari.
Watching ball, munching on some balls! Good times!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 15, 2017
Cool little bar, kind of divey, with a tiny upstairs that overlooks the rest of the bar with a shuffleboard table. I only went here for a beer and to play shuffleboard for a bit but it wasn't a bad time. Nothing really blew me away about this bar but I did like the tiny upstairs area.

This place was busy - and there was only one waitress!!! It's pretty amazing that the server was so on top of things. My salad was brought out exactly as requested (before my main dish), drinks were served immediately after ordering, and our dinners were served piping hot. There was no wait on our check once requested, and the receipt came right away. The server was one of the most unfriendly people I've met in a long time, but she was on top of things and I know she was busy.
The food is very good and everything tastes homemade. The drink selection is huge and the place has a fun and old-timey feel. Check out the ceiling!!!
I didn't use the 15% off my tab coupon I got when I checked in, because I'm going back to use it. Good job Blake Street Vault!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jessica H.Denver, CO20115761Aug 19, 2015
I went to Blake Street Vault recently when my boyfriend and I were looking for a place to grab some lunch. We were lured in by their enticing "Happy Hour from 11-7" sign... Not sure if this is just during the week, but I love me some cheap drinks and grub! The inside of Blake Street Vault is old-school-- the building used to host a saloon in the late 1800s. The atmosphere is straight from your history book. We sat inside in a big cozy booth that had an antique desk lamp on the table.
For drinks, I had a Bloody Mary. It got an 82/100 on my rating scale (this meaning "I would recommend this Bloody Mary to anyone. It is scrumptious in terms of garnishes and actual drink, is aesthetically pleasing, and is not just a "regular old Bloody Mary"). I had three sliders ($7 for 3.. can't go wrong!)-- the short rib, buffalo chicken, and angus beef. The short rib and angus beef sliders were exceptional... The buffalo chicken slider was a little overcooked, so I didn't end up finishing it. All in all, a great deal and really tasty. I probably wouldn't get the buffalo chicken slider again, but maybe I just had a bad experience.
My boyfriend and I also shared the cheese curds. Being from the Midwest, I love good cheese curds! I would come back for these. The seasoning reminded me a bit of Ranch dressing and they just oozed with deliciousness.
All in all, I like Blake Street Vault. It's decently priced during a (long) happy hour and the vibes are relaxed-- you feel like you're living in the past! The service was also good.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Wil E.Denver, CO81821Jan 23, 2015
I am a sucker for good service and Whiskey and this place has stuff from all over the state. A definite staple on Blake st with attentive bar staff and a great happy hour.
Short rib sliders are a must order as is one of the Breckenridge beers.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tanya P.New York, NY117157140Dec 5, 2017
Great happy hour times and specials. The staff has always been willing to help me decide what food to order. I'd recommend the burger or the chicken sandwich. If you are looking for a proper bar with pub food with reasonable prices downtown - this is a good option.

The banner says "Best Moscow mule in Denver!" This is a lie. Of the four different drinks we ordered, all tasted extremely watery despite advertising double pours on their menu. We could barely tell what alcohol and mixer our drinks even had in them. Just walk on by.
And the condition of their limes were deplorableHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Angela D.College Station, TX1493211Jan 3, 2017
What a wonderful experience at Blake St Vault.
We were greeted warmly at the door by bartender and one of the owners. Fantastic selection of whiskey (and whisky) behind the bar and reasonable prices. We didn't dine, but noted that they have a fun and creative menu. After chatting up the GM and owner, we took a fun and informative historical tour of the basement and vault- just fascinating stuff!
This spot has a fun vibe and a nice crowd, I just can't say enough about the wonderful hospitality we were provided. Do yourself a favor and check out Blake Street Vault!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
