Biography

- Graduated in May 2014 with a degree in Integrated Studies with a concentration in Communications.
- Signed his first professional contract in May 2014 with Barangay Ginebra in the Philippines.

CAREER
Posted 1,177 points, 683 rebounds and 129 blocks…ended career ranked No. 7 in scoring, No. 3 in rebounding and No. 2 in blocked shots…only Moc to record 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 100 blocks in a career…holds school season records for rebound average (9.7, 2013-14), blocks (92, 2013-14) and double-doubles (15, 2013-14)…300 boards as a senior ties for second most in DI era...55 double digit scoring nights, 22 20-point efforts, 26 with 10 or more boards, 22 double-doubles and 30 multi-block contests…two-time All-SoCon pick and the first Moc to earn SoCon Defensive Player of the year honors.

Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Year and first team All-SoCon selection by coaches and the media…started in all 31 appearances…team leader in scoring (18.1) and rebounding (9.7)…led SoCon and his 9.7 rebounds per game is a new school DI era record…also led the league in blocked shots (3.0) and defensive rebounds (6.7)…92 blocks is also a new school record…first Moc to record a 40/10 night with 41 points and 10 rebounds against Hiwassee…school-record 15 double-doubles (13th nationally) with seven 20/10 nights…nationally-ranked in double-doubles, scoring (59th), rebounding (22nd), defensive rebounding (17th) and blocks (16th)…tallied 20 or more points 13 times and 10 or more boards on 16 occasions…had five or more blocks nine times…career-high six in wins at Furman, Appalachian State and at home against the Mountaineers on “Zenior” Night…Las Vegas Invitational All-Tournament team…SoCon Player of the Week (Jan. 7) and Player of the Month (January 2014)…MVP of the Dr Pepper Classic…13 20-point games, 23 with two or more blocks and 16 with 10 or more rebounds.

Started all 32 appearances leading the Mocs in scoring (14.9 ppg) and rebounding (7.6 rpg)…posted 15.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per SoCon game…seventh in the league in scoring, fourth in rebounding, 10th in field goal percentage (48.9%), ninth in blocks (0.9), fifth in offensive rebounds (2.4) and fifth in defensive rebounds (5.2)…3rd team All-SoCon…23 double-digit scoring games with eight of 20 or more…five double-doubles…set career highs for points with 27 against College of Charleston, rebounds with 14 at Western Carolina, blocks with four at Kennesaw State and steals with three against Utah Valley, at Georgia Tech and Samford…25 points and 14 rebounds in road win at Western Carolina…MVP of Dr Pepper Classic with 26 points and 13 boards in championship win over Utah Valley…23 points and 11 rebounds in epic comeback win over App State…SoCon Player of the Week on January 22.

2011-12
Played in 25 games with one start…averaged 5.6 points and 5.6 rebounds in 15.8 minutes per game…two double-doubles on the season with his best contests coming in January league play…had 17 points and 13 rebounds (season high) keying home win over Wofford…had 18 points and 11 boards nine days later in a narrow loss at Elon…posted 10.0 points and 8.3 rebounds shooting 52.2 percent from the floor in seven January contests before a knee injury derailed his progress…missed seven games playing in the final three of the season grabbing 8.3 boards per game…four games with double-digit rebounds... second on the squad with 140 rebounds despite his injury troubles.

Redshirted in 2009 before lettering as a redshirt freshman in 2010...honor roll student (fall 2009).

HIGH SCHOOL
One of the top athletes in the state of Tennessee in 2009 class out Christ Presbyterian Academy…All-State performer for Drew Maddux on the court garnering more than 30 DI scholarship offers…three-time All-Region and All-District…District MVP as a senior averaging 24 points, 10.5 rebounds and 5.8 blocks per contest…Tennessee Class AA Mr. Basketball finalist in 2008 leading the Lions to the state tournament…rated No. 2 tight end and No. 91 player in the nation by ESPN…had 35 catches for 464 yards and seven TDs while also rushing for 489 yards and 10 scores as a senior for Jay Matthews.

Zaccheus Marvin Mason was born January 21, 1991 in Nashville, Tenn….prefers to go by the name Z. Mason…son of Latrice Mason…has three younger sisters: Destiny, Yasmin and Kayla…majoring in Integrated Studies with a concentration in Communications.
