Yeah yeah so I'm getting a treatment to shrink my torso!!! Don't judge me lol!!! The groupon deal was too good to be true. What did I have to lose, but my gut ...right?!!?!? I get the body cavitation for flanks and torso. I never purchased anything like this because I was the kid who knew Santa Claus didn't exist. So I'm beyond skeptical of this type of (science).
Anyway I had 3 sessions thus far and it's really what you make it. My girl is Stephanie, and she is very informative and gives the best tips on how to get effective results. She sets up realistic expectations regarding what you do outside the session will make this worth your time or not. I purchased 6 sessions, and consistent work out and good diet will maximize results. When I'm consistent with diet, sessions, and huge water intake I can see results, but if I party or I have hormonal issues it's a minor set back. My weight is not a target; inches are, so the scale can take a back seat. This is not no workout magic I hoped for lol. However, with Stephanie's workout DVD suggestions, I see more results than if I worked out alone. She really cares about her client's success!!
So I definitely see changes, sometimes right away, or sometimes it takes some days. If you aren't serious, money is down the drain. I confess some of my $$ has went to the cheesecake factory, but I still have time lol. You aren't going under the knife to remove fat so like it or not gotta work for it. Like everything else this is an added push.
This process helps break down the stubborn fat cells in problem areas you select. If you understand the methodology behind lymphatic drainage massages than you may have a better understanding of how body cavitation works ( well for me anyway). Basically massage helps push the nasty out.
Lastly, my flanks are retarded, and need to be cut off!! The procedure does nothing for it, but my torso cooperates better with this procedure. Just my experience. Will keep you posted lol.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Krista G.Jersey City, NJ6466Apr 23, 2012
A friend gave me a SpaWeek gift certificate for my birthday, and after consulting the website, I made an appointment for a 50-minute full body massage (one of the SpaWeek specials). When booking the appointment, I specifically mentioned to the receptionist that I had a SpaWeek gift certificate, but when I arrived for my appointment, I was told that SpaWeek gift certificates are not accepted for SpaWeek specials (semantically, very confusing...). However, when I explained that I had mentioned my gift certificate when booking the appointment, they did accept my gift certificate, because apparently the receptionist I had spoken with was new and not aware of their SpaWeek policy. I definitely appreciated that they accommodated me, but be forewarned if you want to book a SpaWeek appointment. Also, I was told that I was responsible for paying the $3.50 tax, which struck me as a little odd.
The massage itself was very relaxing - the therapist made sure to ask if there were any areas I wanted her to concentrate on before she started, and used just the right amount of pressure. I also appreciated the fact that the ambience was very quiet - I absolutely hate when you're trying to pamper yourself and you can hear people outside on the phone.
The regular prices for services are a little steep, but I would consider returning - their package deals are actually pretty reasonably priced.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tanvier P.Buffalo, NY224401963Nov 6, 2013
Today was my first time at Pleasant Road Spa and I have already booked my second appointment. I have been waxing south of the border for over 8 years now and have been trying to find a place in NJ that just gets it right without paying an arm and a leg.
I was originally turned on to Pleasant Road Spa because of the Yelp reviews and praises about Adriana. She did my Brazilian wax today and it was exactly what I wanted. She was extremely personable and professional and did a very good job. I am in my third trimester and must say that when I was able to see her work at home (haha it takes a while now), I was quite pleased! Everything feels so smooth and was very ouchless.
Though Google misdirects you when you type in their address, they have a very quaint and accommodating setup . I definitely will be coming back -especially because they have great prices.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Danielle B.San Francisco, CA2630319Nov 4, 2009First to Review
Loved it!!! After my mani-pedi debacle earlier that day (http://www.yelp.com/biz/hoboken-nails-and-spa-hoboken#hrid:6sNVue19mKYa_j48XctI2g), I needed some serious pampering. What I got was one of the best facials I've ever had! My facialist, Xaq, explained the various steps she would perform throughout the facial, then was completely silent until the facial was over. Since I am someone who enjoys peace and quiet, and does not require entertainment during a facial, this was perfect for me. I can't remember all the stuff she did, but she did it all well. The extractions were thorough but not painful. She did some mini microdermabrasion type stuff which did wonders for my skin---it's never been so smooth! As a final touch, while the final mask was setting, she gave me a foot massage. Aaaaahhhhh. Heaven, pure heaven.
I left there with glowing skin and a relaxed body and mind. My skin was not blotchy at all, and my skin is still smooth and glowing one week later. I just about never take recommendations for products, but I actually took her advice on a cleanser and night cream; so far, so good.
The spa itself is lovely and cozy. If the other services are as good as the facial, then this is a top notch spa. Oh yeah---very reasonable prices ($75 for the facial during the week!).
You must go here for some quality pampering.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 7, 2013
Pleasant Road Spa has reopened and relocated after Hurricane Sandy destroyed their Hoboken location. My wife purchased a gift certificate for me for a massage for my birthday. Unfortunately after the hurricane I was unable to use it since they were closed for a few months. They finally reopened and I was able to go for m massage. While they're now a 30 minute drive from Hoboken instead of the convenient 5 minute walk, I was very happy with their services. They did a good job with my wife's prenatal massage, as well.

Pleasant Road is a great addition to the neighborhood. I love their massages and facials. Prices are reasonable, especially during Spa week and other specials such as 50 min Swedish massage for $50.
It's nice and cozy inside, clean, very relaxing, the beds are super comfortable...
Highly recommended!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I am a loyal client at this spa! Everyone there including the manager is so helpful and sweet. You feel at home and if you have any problems with anything they work with you to correct the issue immediately.
I have experienced the shellac manicure and its amazing to have when you have a toddler, or you just have no patience to sit and wait for your nails to dry. Please try them:)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lmontgomery M.Sumter, SC5071237Apr 11, 2015

Beware: Beautiful spa and great massage but they do not give you the full time you pay for. I paid for a 50 minute massage and arrived 5 minutes before my scheduled time. I sat in the waiting area for 15 minutes watching the woman who turned out to be my masseuse stroll past me several times. I was brought to the room 10 minutes after my scheduled time and the masseuse abrubtly stopped the massage 40 minutes later. I made note of this to the receptionist in a polite way, asking if I had accidentally scheduled a 40 minute massage, because that's what I recieved or if they were very busy perhaps that was the reason, but her response to my questions was to type furiously and ignore me.
Note sure if it's because it was spa week and the 50 min massages are on sale, but if you expect to get what you pay for, don't go to Pleasant Road Spa during spa week.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Megan G.Chicago, IL4412Sep 10, 2010
I went to Pleasant Day Spa last night for a mani/pedi with Arely. First time in the spa. I had received a coupon in the mail, for a $25 special.
It was uber relaxing/zen- like, without the typicaly chatter that you can't understand. There was no frantic pace/confusion. It was very calming. Instead of the typical foot tub, they brought out this enormous tin pail filled will lovely cucumber water- it felt like silk on my feet! The products smelled wonderful, and the treatments were done in a very spa-like fashion. Soothing/calming/relaxing. There was no sense of rushing to get you out. So nice!
Arely did a wonderful job- super meticulous, and the polish looked fantastic. Overall, I loved it. She did a great job of shaping my nails, and cleaning up my cuticles. She did them exactly as I wanted. Very happy! Would highly recommend an appt with her.
The only downside is that they do not have massaging chairs. The chairs are something I look forward to, so was a little disappointed with that. However, after sitting in the spa, you can see how that would go against the overall feel of their place, so I get it. The noise would be very distracting. The only other "negative" is that the selection of polish is very small. A few Essie colors, and a few SpaRitual colors. Maybe 25 total? I was fine with it. Loved the color I chose. If it's a sticking point for you, you could easily bring your own polish.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
