I'm so pleased with my haircut!!! Jennifer is a great listener. She took time to comb through my hair and get a feel for it before she started to cut. She is experienced and explained how to fix my bad haircut I got a few days earlier at another salon. Plus the salon is in a former furniture factory downtown near the museums. The architects who revamped the building thoughtfully left many historic architectural industrial elements to appreciate. The vibe was homey and relaxed and charming. It's been 30 years since I've had such a nice cut! Thank you for a perfect experience!

The girls at Azarra salon are amazing and friendly. Quick back story: before meeting Jennifer I had asked my regular hairstylist at the time to help me transition my dark hair to its now original color....white! I was told by her that it would make me look old. When I met Jennifer for the first time she asked me why I was hiding this beautiful color. She helped me transition without cutting all my hair off. It is now completely white, curly , and healthy. It's been very liberating and there really doesn't go a day where someone doesn't complement my hair. I owe all this to Jennifer....her compassion, understanding, and skill.

I was considering whether to write a review since I chose not to get service here, but the rudeness of the woman who answered the phone was phenomenal. About a week ago, I called to schedule a cut and drastic color change, but I had some questions first. She let me know she was with a client and couldn't talk. That I had to call back later. No thank you! You're still considered part of the SERVICE industry...at least be polite.

I love Jennifer Strong who's been doing my hair for years now. I carry her cards with me as I'm asked who does my hair!

After having my hair shaved off, it grew in the color I have named, "Rat Bitch Grey". So, I made the decision to put some dark blue conditioner on it, leaving it for over an hour, thinking it would silver up the Rat Bitch color a bit. This happened during Covid, so there was nobody I could go to. Plus, I've known that in Europe they have been using enzymes in their developer for hair color and bleach. These enzymes don't poke holes in the hair cuticle like regular developer does. I found the enzyme maker and called the company for a referral to a stylist that uses them. The name of the enzyme developer is called Trionics. You can watch their videos on Facebook. If I were blond now, I wouldn't use anything else on my hair.

So, I was given the name, Aura at Azarra Salon in Tacoma, Washington. She took one look at my hair and knew exactly what to do to brighten it up and cut and styled it like the artist she is.
Aura has been doing hair for a very long time. She just cut my hair last week again, and I told her I wanted it shorter. This is a huge step for me to break out of the bob look I have had for centuries. Now, I love the short stylized do that I have. I can go punky chic, throw water on it and run out the door, brush it straight back and put some big sunglasses on like an Avante Guard Artiste. It's the kind of cut that you can change up for a different day , a change in mood, or just because you can.

This level takes "Tincture of Time" lots of experience and thousands of heads to become the master she is.
Not necessarily tied to convention herself, they sell a variety of wines there because, it's cool.
Aura is MY hair stylist now. But if you want a change and you want your hair healthy and happy, keep away from her. You have been warned.

My daughter and I are in Tacoma for work and found this GEM! Ehrin is AMAZING! She was so welcoming and colored,cut and styled both of us.

Wonder Woman... Jumping in the chair, Jennifer asked what I wanted done and I told her "just a trim and can you braid my hair at the end? I just want to feel like Wonder Woman today..." As the theme of 2020 has been for many, it'd been such a tough couple weeks for me. Jennifer has always done such an AMAZING job cutting my hair, but I walked away from yesterday's hair appointment with so much more. A braid might sound silly and maybe isn't a normal request, but Jennifer went above and beyond to give me just the look I wanted (and needed) to raise my spirits and feel like Wonder Woman. Thank you Jennifer!!

I went to Chelsea again for partial highlights and a trim. This is my 3rd time there and I have nothing but great things to say. She's an amazing stylist! She's smart, sweet, and fun. My hair always looks spot on. I hope she never moves! Also, the space is pretty cool above The Harmon.

I found Aura in a magazine while deployed to Afghanistan in 2013. I had gone through four other stylists in the Tacoma/Puyallup area in the year prior. I wound up moving to SoCal during the Summer of 2015.

Since then, I've again gone through four other stylists! (This time in Oceanside/Carlsbad, CA) I've visited twice to Tacoma since the move and made sure to schedule in time to see the most wonderful Aura!

She's truly SUPERB. YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER STYLIST, COLORIST, and OVERALL PERSON THAN AURA!!!

The one thing I love the most about her is that I can tell her what my end goal is (growing out, remove as much dead ends as necessary, but leave as much as you can... oh and I won't have anyone to do my lightening for 6mos) and she comes up with PERFECTION! She's a damn goddess!

I trust her 100% with my hair and her skills/vision. YOU SHOULD TOO!
