Brixton fedora an easy fix for gloomy days

    1 of 1 2 of 1

      What: Brixton fedora

Where: Edie Hats (the Net Loft, Granville Island)

      Price: $85

Why: A closet full of amazing threads does not always guarantee that you’ll feel stylish. Having bold and timeless accessories to elevate your look is the key to effortless chic. Fedoras are an easy fix for gloomy days when you feel lacklustre and uninspired. Take fashionista Rachel Bilson, who is rarely seen without hers, whether she’s disguising jet-lagged locks or dodging paparazzi. For a wardrobe staple that will complement any ensemble, opt for a natural tone but make sure to check out similar versions in blue and brown as well. Dress up your basics and try it with leggings and a denim shirt, or dress down your boyfriend blazer and wear it with distressed denim and a basic T.

Absolutely True! . buying over the border is often cheaper (not always) .....how ever - buying at a place Edie Hats or other small businesses that are hat lover based, or fashion based , can be a fun time , and an inspiring learning experience... (and thats what you are paying for ) and actually.. as fedora "copies go" ( it's classed as casual Street Fashion in fact ) - Brixton is pretty darn cool. They do an excellent job.
The edges of the brim are the pieces of straw . it's not at all unusual (and kind of cool) to have that on a casual hat. I commend the Georgia Straight in understanding that.
I recommend that you come to the little store on this side of the border.. see why it's so different !

Including, when you buy your hats from small business like Edie, you're stimulating our local economy. Especially, if the product is made in Canada! Here's to creating a stronger local market! Great story by the way, I've spend countless hours in there and a few hundreds of dollars too! Can't go your life without an Edie Hat!

Thanks Ilona ! - I really beleive our strenth as small fashion and "atmosphere" based businesses , is the "life is too short" part of life which needs to be raised in "these economic times".
This is when a relatively small purchase (bigger than a bread box/smaller than a car...wait! ...a fedora is half the size of a bread box...) can make you feel like you just did something exciting , brave and outragous!
Something that we small businesses have the creative freedom , and flexability to do that big box stores can't because they have to keep the effiancy high to be able to offer the low prices.... is create a fun experience and even show how to "do it".
If we are doing right.. we offer the warm fuzzies that some of us are craving these days!
And hey- Wearing a really cool fedora or hat , is something that everyone can add to their bucket list!!
