THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS India Palace Restaurant Review:
Many St. Louis neighborhoods have go-to Indian lunch buffets, but this destination restaurant stands above the rest --- literally, thanks to its 11th-floor location with unimpeded views of airplane traffic and, after dark, the sparkly lights of the nearby Boeing factory. The buffet offers a mid-size range of typical fare, but the dinner menu has plenty of depth. Raita is so good one is tempted to eat it like soup. Chicken tikki masala tops the long list of tandoori preparations; others include lamb, fish, prawns and chicken. (Can’t decide which to order? We recommend the hearty mixed tandoori plate.) The truly adventurous will even find goat, which, we are assured --- correctly, as it turns out --- is a superior meat for the super-hot oven. The evening dessert list ventures beyond the usual, with flavors as diverse as mango, almonds, saffron and sweetened milk. Kulfi, homemade pistachio ice cream, is a cool, soothing finale after the happy barrage of curries.
