Profile
Following the direction of the photography industry, family-owned Camera Land has gone digital. While you can still pick up a roll of 35mm film, the majority of cameras and equipment employ digital technology. The staff works closely with customers to determine which camera will best fit the photographer’s needs, from the popular Olympus point-and-shoot to the more sophisticated Nikon SLR. A wall of digital kiosks allows customers to view their photos and have them printed in-store within a couple of hours. And there’s a classroom in back that hosts fee-based instructional courses on using SLR cameras, managing film software, and editing photos. Accessories like memory cards, padded backpacks for both laptops and cameras, and tripods from Manfrotto and Gorrillapod are in stock, as well as a wide array of non-photographic optical equipment like binoculars, spotting scopes, and rifle scopes by the likes of Carl Zeiss. Custom-framing, photo-restoration, and repair services are all available on site.
