Tucked into a retail-dining complex centered around a charming courtyard, Wine Detective is a self-serve wine bar at which high-tech Enomatic machines dispense vino from around the world. Most of the approximately 50 selections are from boutique wineries, typically priced between $2 and $8 per one-ounce pour, and charged to a debit card that guests insert into the machines. Sip at a small bar while chatting with the friendly owner, or hang out in the seductive lounge. Small plates include standard cheese and charcuterie, as well as pintxos (tiny pieces of bread with toppings like salmon, prosciutto, burrata, piquillo peppers or pork belly). There are a few flatbreads, the most popular of which is layered with prosciutto, Gruyère and sweet cipollini onions, in addition to a duck trio plate consisting of salami, prosciutto and rillettes. Most wines are also available for purchase by the bottle.
