We had a great time at Studio West. I've always thought glass blowing was interesting and when I found that you could get instruction on glass blowing and blow your own piece all for the same price that you would pay for a pre-made piece of art, I was sold. Not only do you get to make and keep a beautiful piece of glass art (we made one bowl and two ornaments) but you also have the satisfaction of knowing that it was something that you created. Conrad was great and showed you all the steps before having you do it yourself. Would highly recommend. It was one of the highlights of our visit to Eugene. Take the time to look at some of the other beautiful pieces created by Conrad while you're there. They are gorgeous also.

Located on 8th Ave in Eugene, I had driven by Studio West a number of times before taking my daughter in for a glassblowing demonstration. Conrad was great with her, thinking about the next step before it happened and talking to both myself and my daughter in an engaging way. Safety was emphasized and we were able to create an ornament in about 45 minutes. Best of all, we learned a lot about glass and glasswork.

We found this great gallery and studio almost by accident but we're sure glad we did. Conrad, Erin and Sprocket the dog were all very welcoming and made our day both educational and fun. The gallery displays pieces for sale as well as offers demonstrations and workshops for a real hands-on experience. Studio West is well worth a visit!

Recently got interested in blown glass after visiting several studios, including the Tacoma Glass Museum. We got turned on to Studio West by the owners at a Eugene B&B that we're staying at. Went on a whim, and were extremely impressed with the studio and with Conrad. My daughter and my wife ended up taking a lesson from him - my daughter made a glass ornament, while my wife made a glass bowl. Conrad is excellent - he's very patient and a great teacher. It's obvious that he loves what he does, and explained all of the intracacies of the process as they were creating the pieces.

My advice to you is to go and see the studio, regardless of whether you're interested in learning how to blow glass. The pieces on display there are beatiful and yet are very reasonable (more so than at other studios that we've visited). And, if you are interested in giving glass blowing a try, definitiely check it out. You'll find that you're able to have a great time for a reasonable price, and on top of it you'll end up with a keepsake that you can use for years to come.

Our only regret is that we're unable to transport Conrad and his studio to Sacramento, where we live.

After visiting Studio West on a scheduled Art Walk I met and talked with Conrad Williams, the artist and owner. His glassblowing gallery and studio are very appealing as was his invitation to take a one hour class where I could walk away with a piece I would create myself with his help. Conrad is an excellent instructor and within the alloted time, he shared the basics of his art, demonstrated the steps of making an art object, and then allowed me to follow his lead. I ended up with a "Float" which now resides in my home, and even my wife who thinks I have zero patience and no artistic talent is impressed with the piece. The price of instuction to include your art piece, which could be an ornament or a bowl as well as a float, was very reasonable cost wise. Conrad and his wife Aron are gracious hosts. This was the highlight of my visit to Eugene.
