Special to the Los Angeles Times

Nine months after closing, the former Ritz-Carlton Lake Las Vegas is set to reopen Feb. 11 as Ravella at Lake Las Vegas, a Mediterranean-inspired luxury resort in Henderson, Nev., about a half-hour drive from the Las Vegas Strip.

Though the lobby is being remodeled to become a social gathering spot, the bones of the property will remain the same, as will the look of the 349 guest rooms, including 33 suites and two presidential suites.

New Jersey-based Dolce Hotels and Resorts has rebranded the property and will manage it as a destination for corporate meetings, weddings and leisure guests. Operating as a full-service hotel, but one less dependent on Ritz-style ultra-luxury and prices, Ravella is aiming to offer spacious lodging for prices that run as low as $89 during the opening weeks.

Of course, Dolce is not messing with the resort’s signature, the Ponte Vecchio Bridge, a three-story span over Lake Las Vegas that includes rooms, suites and an over-the-water chapel, La Capella di Amore.

Dolce specializes in large corporate properties that offer resort amenities. Sitting on 15 acres in the master-planned community, Ravella offers a heated pool; a spa with 24 treatment rooms; an 11,841-square-foot ballroom; 32,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space; and cool views of the mountains, desert and lake. The lake is navigable by kayak, canoe and more.

Ensuring that corporate guests and the Facebook-obsessed can keep in touch, WiFi is offered throughout the resort. WiFi and parking are among the services included in the $22 daily resort fee.

During the resort’s opening weeks, rates for a double or king room start as low as $89 a night for Nevada residents, but others can expect to pay $139 and up.

As a new feature and symbolic bridge to the Lake Las Vegas community, Ravella guests who dine at the adjoining village can opt to bill their restaurant meals to their guestrooms.
