88 Great place for a beer in burllngton. Good atmosphere, 30 taps, pretty good food and solid nightly specials. Look at burlington growing up and getting a beer bar. |
90 Great craft brew selection. Food choices are good, prices in line. Staff has good knowledgeable and brew choices rotate often. |
92 This place has taken off with the new owners. They added a patio and some big screen TVs. They are doing live music on fridays by local bands that rock. The beer menu is awesome. A little hint, it changes constantly. Ask the bartenders for the new stuff and they will help you out. One of the owners is the chef. He will come out and talk to you about what to eat with what you want to drink. This place rocks!! |
28 I’ve been here quite a few times because I go to college at Elon University and its got the best beer selection within 5 minutes from campus. To get any better you’ve gotta drive 25 minutes to Greensboro. That being said, the beer selection still isn’t that good. About 25 percent of the beers on their list aren’t in stock and DrBayern is completely right about their beer descriptions. They can be pretty bad.
The food is average bar food. Definitely should be better to accommodate quality beer.
In the past, the service has been decent, but I’m never going back again because of how I was treated last time I went for St. Patrick’s day. Now I know it was St. Patrick’s day so you’re not going to get the best service in the world, but that’s no excuse for how rude the manager/owner and our waiter was.
First, I asked for a Franziskaner Hefe-weizen and they gave me the Dunkel-weizen. Ok, not a huge deal. It was still good. Throughout our meal our waiter would completely ignore us when we asked for something |
96 I love this place. They have the largest selection of beer, wine, and cocktails in the Triad region. I live less than 5 minutes from it, so the location is a plus. Great atmosphere, the staff is great and they really know there beer. Good prices and they always have a special. |
70 Stopped in on a drive through the area. Nice little bar in a strip center that also houses the Top Brews store (which was my primary stop). Thirteen taps with six rotating regionals and the other seven mainly decent imports (Guiness, Hoegaarden, etc.). Friendly bartender at lunch who knew about the brews. Daily specials on regionals. Didn’t try the food, but it looked and smelled good. Definitely worth the diversion off of I-40 if you are hungry and thirsty, and as DrBayern already said, this has got to be the best little place in Burlington. |
76 Since my daughter attends nearby Elon University, I’ve visited this place 4 or 5 times since it opened last year. Tap selection is respectable with several offerings form Natty Greene’s in nearby Greensboro and Foothills in Winston Salem. A few other NC micros, DFH, Chimay White, etc. Pretty decent bottle selection as well, although the descriptions on the beer menu are in some cases absurd, and in others, simply wrong. Perhaps I’ll bring this up the next time I visit. Food is decent, but uninspired, pub fare. Service has always been very friendly and accommodating, although the beer knowledge of the waitresses is limited. The bar staff is better informed. Seems to be a mixture of college students and professorial types when I’ve been there, and it’s never been rowdy or out of control like a "college bar." This place has the potential to be quite good. They need to rotate their taps a little more, an add a little inventiveness to the menu. Still, it’s probably the best bet in In Burlington. An extra bonus is the new bottle shop across the parking lot that opened recently, Top Brews. |
