Location, location, location. It’s a long-standing truism and it is what brought Tony and Roseanne Bonaiuto to open Bella Mia West Salon and Spa at 8185 Brecksville Road in November. They were owners of Bella Mia Hair Studio and Day Spa in Walton Hills and were looking to expand when they found their site.
‘We liked the area and this building had the architecture and the right ambiance for what we envisioned,” Roseanne said. Tony loved the building, the ample parking and the visibility it offered, “Without the congestion of downtown,” he added.
Tony is also a contractor by trade, and did all the work to prepare the salon for its wide variety of services including hair, nails (manicures and pedicures), massage, facials and body wraps. Pampering is the name of the game at Bella Mia, Roseanne emphasized. She has been a stylist for 30 years and the couple has been in business for 22. There are seven other employees at the Brecksville location.
The interior of the building has a definite European feel with amenities that emphasize pampering. European shampoo stations offer the most comfortable seating, with the sink coming up to the customer. “We kept the styling stations at four so it wouldn’t get crowded,” Roseanne said.
If you are a first-time hair styling customer, you get to fill out a 10-question form that provides your ideas and expectations. The stylist will then consult with you about what styles you like, what you want your hair to do once you leave and what products to use at home. That personalization has brought many patrons back to the salon and word of mouth is spreading.
The Bella Boutique offers items by local artists as well as products the salon offers its customers. The boutique has some beautiful porcelain and glass items and other high-end products produced locally, will be added soon.
“We encourage people to come in for a free consultation and to check it out for themselves,” Tony said as he showed us the massage area with two tables. “We can do couple massages, here,” Roseanne said.
Tony was beaming when talking about the pedicure stations because they are the very latest technology allowing sanitizing in just two minutes. They also provide shiatsu massage and the pedicure bowls have fiber optic lighting. “It’s really relaxing,” he said. He was also quite proud of the beautiful customer restroom facilities. “A lot of people tell us they like a salon until they need to go into the bathroom,” he said.
Bella Mia West is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays; 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. If you are looking for a perfect gift, be sure to ask about their beautiful gift certificates.
