      I highly recommend trying their new line called "Back of Bottle"... the color is fantastic and lasts much longer than the previous kind used and the "Free Rein Curl Cream" is the best product I have ever tried for my curls! It made them much more defined while still leaving my hair soft to the touch! I bought 2 bottles

      Back of Bottle ColorSpace color and Free Rein Curl Cream!! Love it!

      Kristen is the best. Waxing, massages, and facials you HAVE to book with her. Waxing, she always makes you comfortable. She is full of tips and tricks to make it a great experience and her aftercare tips are freaking on point. Facials, she uses Aveda products so they're great for your body besides the obvious. Spa days aren't just for ladies either. My husband loves these too. We don't go to anyone else. So happy I found out about Kristen!

      Kelsey always gives me the cutest cut and I leave feeling pampered and refreshed! I've been going to her since I moved to the area 4 years ago and she's been an excellent fit for my wavy/curly hair. I'd 100% recommend this salon!

      This review is for Spa St. Louis: A sanctuary in the middle of St. Louis.

      I stayed at Hotel St. Louis for conference, and was in dire need of a haircut and color. Miranda cut and did subtle balayage on my hair to mimic Sandra Bullock's hair in Ocean's Eight.
      She hit it out of the ballpark!! Spot on. Couldn't be happier.

      I had gone MANY, MANY years without a professional haircut. I came to Salon St. Louis needing about 6 inches cut off to get my hair back to a healthy length. Ben was so kind and did a fantastic job cutting my hair. I have been receiving so many compliments from friends and coworkers on the new haircut which is always a nice bonus! The staff was so kind and accommodating and I was offered many extra complimentary treatments (scalp massage, paraffin dip) which made me feel very pampered. I will definitely be a repeat customer!

      Jo has been my stylist for over 10 years. Her skill and professionalism are exemplary. All stylists have a high level of creativity and ongoing training is a priority at this Aveda salon. High end salon without being stuffy. Enjoy a pampering experience.

      I like feeling special when I get my hair done, and Salon St Louis does that for me. I also have never had a bad haircut from their stylists. I most recently came in after a disaster. I had tried to save money by going to get my hair cut at one of the discount places; it was a gamble, and I lost. Luckily for me, the stylist at Salon STL was able to fix it for me. I was honestly scared that I would never have normal hair again, and the lovely stylist FIXED IT!!! Huge sigh of relief. I have never had my hair colored there, so I cannot attest to the quality of those services, but I would highly recommend their hair cuts at all stylist levels. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because it's often hard for me to get an appointment quickly.

      Stuff you should know:
      - As long as you have an appointment scheduled for the future, you can come in for a complimentary "crisping" between visits. "Crisping" is basically a touch up for your haircut, a very good idea if you're trying to grow out your hair and want to avoid split ends.
      - A paraffin wax hand treatment is complimentary during your haircut
      - Salon STL is closed on Sundays

      One last note:
      As in all service-related industries, the attitude of the customer is important. I think that if you are gracious and thankful, and defer to the knowledge of the stylist, you will end up with a good experience every time. Remember, just because you are paying for a service doesn't mean you shouldn't say thank you.

      Yesterday I learned that a.bigger salon doesn't always mean better. I went to this salon with the intention of getting an up do for my wedding. I had a little picture with me, and it looked simple, but admittedly i have thin/fine hair. Instead of maybe telling me this isn't a good idea at this point, the stylist (Kelsie?) Says she can do it, but is sighing,.hands shaking, etc. I could already tell this wasn't going to go well. It didn't. My hair ended up being teased to give it volume like we were in 1986. I didn't like it. My maid of honor didn't like it. Not knowing what to do, I gently told the stylist that my hair was too frizzy for me (it looked like when small children fall asleep with beautiful hair styles, and wake up 2 hours later after a beautiful nap. At this point, my maid of honor and I exchange awkward text messages. I quickly come to the realization that my hair on my wedding day is just going to be f#$ked. I just let it go and go pay. Back at the station where.my maid of honor is getting her hair done, she asks me.if I'm ok with my hair. At this point I'm 99 percent done, but I just tell her it's ok. This is when is it gets really WILD! The stylist who had done my jank looking hair comes over and starts literally yelling at us because we texted in front of her and we were being "unkind". Apparently this entire situation is my fault because I did not get a consultation. After her fit, she then offers to fix my hair. As if I'm going to have the same angry lady style my hair poorly twice. Honey...if you can't do hair then you can't do hair. Against my better judgement, I still paid and tipped this lady. I should have just been the Karen that I know I can be. I left the salon crying and I called my normal stylist who isn't currently doing hair due to Covid. She begrudgingly accepted to do my hair, so I had to spend the drive home digging a ton of poorly placed pins out of my hair. I then had to wash out the bank style, etc. The hair stylist who was out of commission due to Covid, fixed my hair in 30 minutes, charged 20 bucks and it looked 1 thousand percent better than the original, much longer style.

      We have been to Salon St. Louis three times. And, the experience is really hit or miss, depending on who you see. The person we had a great experience with is not gone.

      Having read good reviews about Hunter, we booked with her. She was so unfriendly! She didn't speak to my teenaged daughter ONCE during the appointment. She skipped the paraffin treatment. She cut my daughter's hair 1. less than we asked 2. unevenly. What was supposed to be a pleasant day out became very uncomfortable. We will NOT return to Hunter again. And, I am hesitant to book with anyone else there now, too.

      I am looking elsewhere for future haircuts and suggest others do the same.

      I was very happy with my experience here. Matthew did a great job! I would go as far as to say it's probably my favorite hair cut I've ever gotten. It took me a minute to get used to it because I cut a lot off and I usually like to restyle my own hair, but I love the cut!

      They give you a scalp massage before washing your hair and it's amazing and also have a complementary paraffin dip for your hands. I'm a student and was given a student discount as well. Needless to say, I was very happy, will definitely go back, and will be sure to request Matthew in the future!
