Dr. Patti Webb

Dr. Patti Webb

Dr. Patti grew up in Williston and graduated from high school there in 1967. She loved mathematics and music, especially the band, and entered the University of Florida as a music major. After her advisor warned that "girls were not typically band directors", she changed her major to chemistry which was a pivotal decision.

After graduating with a B.S. degree, Dr. Webb taught chemistry and human anatomy at Niceville High School for nine years. While teaching she earned a Master's degree in Botany from UF. In 1978, she was appointed Director of the State Science and Engineering Fair which was held in Niceville. During her high school teaching career, she had numerous students who won awards at the annual fairs, including college scholarships. She also had a Westinghouse Talent Search Winner.

In 1979, Dr. Webb returned to the University of Florida to pursue a Ph.D. degree in plant pathology. After receiving her degree, she joined the Fruit Crops Department faculty and conducted epidemiological research on pathogens of important fruit crops while supported by EPA and USDA grants.

Following her desire to be a more independent scientist, she entered the UF College of Dentistry in 1989 as a freshman dental student. After receiving her D.M.D. degree in 1993, she joined Dr. Stephen Schnell and Gentle Dental Care in Gainesville. In 1994, she purchased the practice from Dr. Schnell who retired. In 2003, she moved Gentle Dental Care to its new expanded facility and upgraded the operatories and installed the latest digital recordkeeping software.

She and her husband, Dr. Roger Webb, have seven children who have grown up in the Gainesville community.

She is a member of the Alachua County Dental Association, the Central Florida District Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Jordan Webb

Dr. Jordan Webb

Born in Gainesville, Dr. Jordan attended P.K. Yonge and Oak Hall School before entering Buchholz High School. He graduated from Buchholz in 2003 where he was co-captain of the soccer team and was active in the Entrepreneurial Business Center. He received a Bright Futures scholarship and attended the University of West Florida where he graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-professional Biology. While at West Florida, Dr. Jordan was active in student government and was almost persuaded to enter the field of law. He enrolled in Tufts Univeristy's School of Dental Medicine and graduated in May, 2011.

Jordan's most memorable professional experience while at Tufts was his 2010 summer externship as a visiting dentist at the Winslow (Arizona) Navajo Indian Health Care Center. Working with Indian children of all ages reinforced his proficiency for patience and his attention to the dental needs of his geriatric patients honed his diagnostic and pain management skills.

At his Tufts Graduation ceremony, he received the Academy of Dentistry's annual student award for excellence in dental treatment of Patients with Disabilities. This award was for his dental treatment of victims of domestic violence as well as medically compromised patients.

Like his mother, Jordan is a member of the Alachua County Dental Association, the Central Florida Dental Association and the American Dental Association.
