Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach's annual member exhibit opens Friday

Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach"Celebrate 2011," the annual juried artist member exhibit, will be on display at the Cultural Center through Feb. 18.

Works by Beaches-area artists will be featured in a new exhibit opening Friday at the Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach.

"Celebrate 2011" is the center's annual juried artist member exhibition. The public is invited to the opening reception from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Jacksonville artist Cookie Davis received the best in show award for her "Cut from the Same Cloth" ceramic. She describes her clay figures as having an attitude and a message.

Featured works by other Cultural Center artist members will include mixed media, drawings, paintings, photography and sculpture. Jenny Hager-Vickery, an artist and University of North Florida sculpture instructor, juried the exhibition. It will be on display through Friday, Feb. 18.
