I was sad when NYAJ left Station Landing. I used to frequent the bar area for their reasonably priced bar menu appetizers. It was a very nice place that I still miss.

Although I could be ashamed to say it, I did find that my experiences at Not Your Average Joe's have been above average despite it being part of a chain. But it's not a typical chain. I've found that they do care about their customers there and on every vist the managers have gone around and made sure that our experiences there have been good. They've gone as far as comping our entrees which weren't cooked as well as we would have liked and I've found that their attention to the customers needs and experience to be remarquable.

Another notable attribute is the ability for the restaurant to adapt to their patrons's allergies. Whether you can't eat a specific ingredient, gluten or anything else, they'll adapt and they cook everything to order.

Unlike most chains though, the volume is more limited as the seating arrangement doesn't feature a thousand seats per restaurants with ridiculous turnover. Instead the reduced capacity enables them to keeps things in check. Whether you are here for lunch or dinner, the menu is diverse and most entres are under $13 (the price increases a bit for the dinner service like in most restaurants though) making for a good value.

I've had all kinds of dishes there and I must say that their mustard-crusted chicken is one of the best dishes I've had there. It's their claim to fame and it was moist, cooked perfectly and juicy. Perfectly seasoned as well. Same goes for their buffalo-Caribbean chicken tender appetizer, which is great to split and comes with a pretty addictive side of pineapple-jalapeno salsa.

I've also had their salads which are pretty good (although the dressing, which are made in house could be a bit better) but have yet to try their pizzas. The place is clean, reliable and affordable. This is the kind of chain restaurant that I can stand behind as they cook everything in house and it shows.

They also have a more than decent wine and cocktails menu which was a pleasant surprise and a private parking lot where parking is plentiful and a breeze. Just don't drink and drive please.

Oh and did I mention that they have this bread basket that's pretty great as well? There's even dipping oil that they mix table-side with huge clumps of fresh garlic? It's pretty addictive as well.

First time at NYAJ..... For our appetizers we had the Asian pot stickers, which were pretty good.... For our entrées I had the balsamic salmon dish (with quinoa) which was different but pretty good

Hubz decided to make his own pizza, grilled chicken pizza with smoked mozzarella.... He said he didn't like the chicken too much... I tried his dish... I wasn't a fan

I didn't think I'd ever fall in love with a restaurant over their meatloaf, but I sure did with Not Your Average Joe's. The food here is great and service is efficient. Their menu is extensive and caters to any customer. But back to the meatloaf - it was really well seasoned and flavorful. I thought it would be try, but it wasn't. It came with a side of mashed potatoes, which went really well it it. The portion is big enough to take it home for a second meal, which is what I did. In terms of space, this restaurant is pretty big with lots of parking. I'd definitely be coming here again in the near future.

This joint is definitely not average. It is superb. Very diverse menu, filled with options for everyone. Thankful to have stumbled in!

Our waiter, Antonio, was extremely friendly and personal. He didn't mind our questions and jokes. Our food came quick and we all loved it. Highly recommend the buffalo chicken appetizers and strawberry shortcake with whatever you order!!!

Pork tenderloins and couscous, medium well
Strawberry shortcake, all made in house. Absolutely divine!

Service was excellent. Waitress very helpful and attentive. The bread and dipping sauce...is toooooo goood. I agree w/ other yelpers, the bread+sauce is one of the best combo's i've ever had. adds to the star.
We had the calimari which I thought was ok. I had the meatloaf which sounded good on the menu but was too dry when it arrived. This was the first time I had a meat loaf that was spiced correctly, but was too dry to chew through. But the desert made up for it. It was a creme bulee style cheesecake and it was AMAZING. I should have just gone straight for the desert the first time around. Its the desert right now that's keeping the 4 star rating. Management was nice about the meatloaf and apologized. I'll still go again since I won't let one bad dish put me off.

I have to come to this specific location at least one to two times per month... Maybe even more!

The service here is superb and the atmosphere of this exact location knocks the ball out of the park when it comes to service, food and atmosphere! Tens across the board!! Do I need to say more!??

Last night my grandfather wanted to go out for dinner and our usual place to go is Not Your Average Joes! We love it here! We come here for all of our birthdays and other celebrations!! So anyway, last night it's my Papa, my girlfriend and myself at the table, Dave come up and greets us and brings us their DELICIOUS bread and always paired with a delectable olive oil dip! I can taste it now as I'm writing this!! Yum! He take our drink orders and head off on his way... While we are looking at the menu my girlfriend and I say to each other why bother looking when we know what we already want!! We always get the Almond Crusted Goat Cheese Salad! For me, I like to add a twist... I add the following:
      -Avocado
      -Tomatoes
      -Pickles
      -Cucumber
      -Shrimp (Protein)

I highly recommend trying it with the balsamic vinaigrette on the side opposed to the raspberry dressing!

Back to ordering, my papa wasn't sure what to get! He was torn between the Steak Tips and Meatloaf which I have heard was a Joes favorite by most people! I don't eat meat but I hear it's a big seller! He did ask Dave if they still sell the Mediterranean Chicken meal but Dave said they don't and wish they brought it back because EVERYONE LOVES IT! So, my papa orders the Tips. We also asked Dave for more bread but in all honesty it took him until after our meals came to bring more. (We did ask a few times)

By the time we were done with our meal, the manager, Patricia came over to ask how our food was and we say phenomenal like always! My Papa did bring up the Mediterranean meal again and Patricia said if we personally ask for it, they could possibly make it! She was a doll and so personable!!

After she lets we chatted some more and all of a sudden Patricia came back with a bag and said that she had the cook make my Papa a Mediterranean Chicken dish and it was on the house. We were BLOWN AWAY... Literally BLOWN AWAY!! We were so thankful and thought it was so nice of her to do that!!

This is why I wish there were more places like this! A must go to and try! Options are endless, wait staff are amazing and the managers are down to earth friendly REAL people! You do not get that everywhere! Way to go NYAJ! Way to go!!

      Joe, you closed Medford?

We go to several of your resturants on a regular basis (Medford, Arlington, Rockland, Acton, Burlington) and Medford was the best in terms of service and food quality.

So sad this is closed. The next closest one is Arlington, but I won't go there, it is just too crazy with kids running around.

We LOVE this place! The food is good. Juicy burgers, awesome bread and dipping oil. Nice atmosphere. But what makes it is the best service ever. We have had Jen a few times and she is really the number one reason we come back. She always takes good care of us!

The "Adult Grilled Cheese and Tomato soup for dipping" Jen recommened dipping in the soup and its my new favorite!

I've been to this location a few times and I have always had good service. Even when there is a line the place works like a well oiled machine getting people seated, fed, and out the door without feeling rushed.

It seems that the restaurant (and all other NYAJ's) have not really decided on what they will focus on from pastas, pizza, burgers, fish, etc. Not quite Italian, not quite American. Either way I can find something that will fit my mood. I have had their crab cake BLT, shrimp Mediterranean pasta, calamari app, key lime pie, and strawberry shortcake- from my most recent visits. No matter what the best thing is their bread and oil dip. And if you ask politely they will give you more. Just try not to fill up on bread before your entree comes.

Their portions are big so you might want to stop half way through and get a doggy bag so you can fit into your pants or get dessert, your choice. I love strawberry shortcake, maybe one of my favorite desserts, and they do it really well here. Also, the key lime pie is really tart- what you expect from key limes.

I suggest that you just go straight to the FREE garage parking instead of circling around just to get a really close spot. Save times and aggravation.
