I wanted to take a minute to share how truly grateful I am for Don. I lift weights, and every time I come in to see him, he absolutely knocks out my pain and soreness. He takes the time to listen to me about what hurts and where I need him to focus and then he does just that! He asks me questions so that he can get a better idea of where he needs to spend some extra time. He is professional, kind, and has truly been amazing at helping to lessen my pain. I hope he never leaves! He's a true asset to your location! I tell anyone and everyone I can to book an appointment with him.

Don't normally get massages but glad I did this time. Go to Paula she is great! She made me feel comfortable and calm, she also made sure to get my trouble spots and asked to make sure she got them before I left!

This is my first and only visit to any hand & stone location. My husband made the reservation for me last minute and was told there was one opening for the day. I quickly went out the door and arrived right on time at my appointment.

I filled out the usual new client paperwork and was done in less than 5 minutes and was back into the massage room and ready to go 10 mins after my appointment start time. The massage itself was alright but the pressure was incredibly light and in my new client paperwork I listed my preference as firm as in I want to feel I'm being crushed under a Boulder level of firmness. The massage therapist was pleasant and very nice. My one hour massage ended up lasting a little over 40 mins in total.

I called my husband on the way home feeling very confused about my experience. This was not what I expected and I felt like I had just wasted time, money, and I was left disappointed, slathered in oil in the scorching Arizona heat. Very sad.

We called the salon when I got home and come to find out, this therapist specialized in light-medium relaxation. Now, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, it is just so far away from what I wanted. Why fill out the new client form if they aren't even going to look at it? If a client wants 5/5 firmness and is paired with someone who specializes in light-medium relaxation, you're setting up the customer AND therapist for failure. We didn't get a great response back other than they would put a note in their system.

My issue is not with the therapist, she was very nice. There needs to be more transparency about the specialization of therapists up front and especially if the customers needs aren't a good fit for the therapist.

I just cannot speak highly enough of this place. There was a scheduling miscommunication mostly on my end and even though she didn't have to, Kerri went above and beyond to make things right. And then my masseuse, Sharma, was the most lovely and kind person ever! Not mention gives an incredible massage. I don't usually leave reviews but I was so touched and impressed by all of the staff here that I had to. I cant wait to come back!

I highly recommend this spa. I look forward every month for my facial and massages. The staff exemplifies the best service. Kerri is professional, friendly and customer service oriented. Also, Amber proves great facials. Treatments are reasonably priced and makes self care more affordable

I have no idea what I paid for...someone to rub lotion on me for 45 mins? First, I'd like to mention that after receiving numerous prenatal massages, justifying that a prenatal massage is always "light" is not acceptable. I was so uncomfortable and more over confused as to what the masseuse was doing. To end the whole 45 minute experience (I took maybeeee 60 seconds to undress), no one at the front desk bothered to ask how the service was. Such a poor experience, I'll never be back.

Worse massage ever! If you are looking to have someone do. I thing more than haphazardly put lotion on you then Nancy is the right choice. If you want something resembling therapy...find someone else.

My massage therapist Dejah was fantastic but I felt the price and the amount of time was not a good value. They charge now about $79 for a 50 minute massage and it just did not seem worth it. If they were trying to convince me to become a monthly member, it did not do the trick.

Hand and Stone was a really nice place to get a massage. The front desk was quick, and knowledgeable. They got us through our paperwork quickly, and helped us with scheduling our next appointment

Ambiance: 4/5 - obviously this isn't the same kind of spa as what you're going to get at a 5 * hotel. But for what it is the ambiance is very nice. The massage rooms were nice and dim, warm but not too hot, and they had on soothing music. The general space was very clean, and felt welcoming.

Massage: 4.5/5 - the massage therapist that I had was very good, not phenomenal - but, she knew what she was doing. The pressure was mostly good for me, although at a few points a bit too firm (I did ask for medium-firm though, so no complaints). I did appreciate that after the massage my therapist mentioned that while I have been experiencing shoulder/upper back pain, it was likely caused by tightness in my pectoral area pulling my shoulders forward. She gave me some suggestions to stretch and strengthen that region, and told me it would likely help my shoulder pain. My therapist also seemed to be flexible, which I like. I imagine if I continue to go back to that location and receive care from her, she will quickly learn what pressure I enjoy, my problem areas, etc.

Price: 3/5 - I feel like the price is reasonable. The introductory rate is really good and when you add on an extra 30 minutes it's only $1/min. But if you're not a member (monthly), or on the introductory plan it can be a bit on the pricey side for the kind of spa service you're getting. I believe it's about $110 for 50 minutes. There are definitely some hotel spas around Scottsdale that are only $135 for 50 minutes, but you also get access to many more spa features (saunas, hot tub, pool, steam rooms, etc). So if you're planning on going more than once, grab a membership, it's definitely the most cost effective option.

Our biggest complaint was that we didn't schedule the 80 minute appointment. 50 minutes is just too short. It almost feels like you're just getting going and then you have to leave. We'll definitely be back though!

This for the Old Town Scottsdale locale. I have been a regular client for 2+ years at the Anthem, AZ H&S locale. Anthem is WONDERFUL. Old Scottsdale? Extremely DISAPPOINTED & RUDE Asst. Mgr. B/c of health issues (mastectomies, cancer, and chemo) I am unable to have massages and facials at this time. My credits had accrued to over 6+ these past months. Graciously Anthem, AZ allowed me to cancel and gave me until June 7th to utilize my 6-7 credits. H&S also said I may gift the current credits to my daughter ($10 transfer fee + tip) so my 6-7 ($500+) would not be wasted. JOANN the Asst Mgr was SO RUDE at the Old Scottsdale locale. This locale is right by my daughter's home, instead of an hour away in Anthem. She wouldn't listen, stated I was cancelled after looking in the computer (a simple phone call to Anthem would clarify this), and extremely rude. I explained that we could call Anthem and they would assist. She responded, that I should do it myself and she can't help-go back to Anthem. I was honestly appalled at her attitude. Moreso b/c I have NEVER ever experienced anything but wonderful out of Anthem Hand & Stone. She didn't offer to call Anthem or help in any way. My daughter called Anthem and has an appt for this week. No issues, no fuss. What a difference the locale makes! Don't settle for rude and attitude. Life is too short! Bravo Anthem, Thumbs Down Old Scottsdale.
