NEW YORK — Gersh has signed comedian Sugar Sammy to rep him in all areas following another strong showing at this summer’s Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal.
After a competitive pursuit — thanks in part to the performer’s worldwide fan base — Gersh reached a deal with him. The agency is working on theatrical and touring plans and ready to look for other opportunities as well.
Sugar Sammy was born Sam Khullar in Canada to Indian parents. He has performed to sold-out audiences in English, French, Hindi and Punjabi in 14 countries, including the U.S. He also opened for Dave Chappelle in Toronto.
He was one of THR’s 10 rising comics to watch in a special issue published ahead of this year’s JFL.
