I tried out Morone's to take advantage of the Yelp 10% Cash Back offer and it was something new. Stopped in for lunch and was surprised to find that they have All-You-Can-Eat pizza.
Although I can't remember her name, my host and server was the owner, who was extremely pleasant the moment I entered. I told her I would just have the buffet and she politely escorted me to my seat. Plus points. She was so sweet.
The pizza was great. Each slice had this aroma and flavor of gourmet pizza. I could feel the love in the making of them. I also had some of the salad and pasta in the other bins, which was ok, but I was really feeling the pizza. Bread base was toasted well, meat items were fresh, as were the vegetables. Even the cheese-only slices were good and I normally prefer them with meat.
I'd suggest checking it out because it's offered at an excellent AYCE price and you get the 10% kickback if you're registered for the Yelp cashback program.
...and ask to speak to the owner, I think her name is J.J. Adorable woman who loves her business and her customers.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Came here with the husband looking for some Italian! We got the free garlic bread for checking in on yelp, which was cool. I ordered the penne with red sauce, and hubs had the potato pizza. The pizza was actually pretty alright, I would try it again. The pasta just tastes like box pasta- the red sauce was good but it wasn't mind blowing. The garlic bread was overwhelmingly garlic buttery - it was good, but would taste better with marinara sauce to dip it in. This restaurant in general is pretty cute after a long day, but I wouldn't take someone here on a first date or anything. It's pretty casual. I would eat here again because it's close by, but I wouldn't make the drive specifically for this restaurant.

What's all the whining in the other reviews about ...?!?
I've eaten at Morone's for more than 20 years. Much of it carry out, but not all. They have a very, very loyal local following.
Morone's has the BEST meatball sub in the city, and really good pizza.
Their Wednesday Night buffet is a downright bargain - with pizza, pasta, chicken, meatballs, salad, etc.
To be clear, Morone's is not my "go to" for excellent pasta - Morretti's on Sawmill gets that nod.
But Morone's is REALLY GOOD for subs, pizza and the buffet night.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Tiffany R.Rockville, MD27203862Nov 12, 2018
***This review is wholly based on the phone call we had with the staff there.
We are planning our holiday party and they did not have information on the website. It's states to call to get information which is what I did. I called and asked if they could give me more information on pricing and if they had a private room to hold a holiday party for my employees. I was put on hold, but instead of actually putting me hold she just put the phone down and yelled to someone "She wants to know about parties or something like that", with an attitude. As if I was disturbing them.
When she got back on the phone so still acted as if I was bothering her. When I asked about prices, she just kept saying it depends on what you order. She couldn't give me any information. I asked if the menu was the same as the one online and her response was to just come in.
Don't advertise group events and buffets and tell your customers to call for more information on your website if you don't want them to call and ask. If this is how you treat people who haven't even come there, why would I want to?
I hope one day I am able to change this review, but as of now I will never step foot in this restaurant.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tls K.Dublin, OH3725777Dec 24, 2018
Craving pasta we tried a new place found on Yelp. Thanks to the check in offer for free garlic bread we DEVOURED the best garlic bread I've ever had!
Next time I will add a salad with house basalmic dressing and be happy.
Today I ordered tortilla with house tomato sauce said to he from the "old country". It was tasty without additives found in other sauces.
My son ordered penne or rigatoni noodles with Alfredo, also house made, but not nearly as good as the tomato sauce. After about 3 bites he wanted to trade. The Alfredo was good but I tend to eat dairy free and this was a heavy sauce.
My boys (son and husband) started their meals with wedding soup - the BEST wedding soup EVER. Also house made.
I began my meal with a simple house salad with house made basalmic dressing ( do you see a theme here?) I brought home a small container!
If you like old world sauces, go to Marone's! Try their pure sugar cane sodas too. The black cherry was delicious! I cant wait to go back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Tried Morone's today. It was fine... part of the problem was likely that I ordered online. I've been wanting to try them because their menu says they do four different types of crust! I ordered two personal size pizzas: one Pan style (thick) and the other Pie style (thicker hand tossed). The app had me specify what type of crust I wanted... but then they both came super thin? So I'm not sure what went wrong... perhaps you can't make the personal pizzas a special type of crust? Or, maybe they didn't read the yelp order thoroughly? Bottom line- I suggest ordering by phone! NOT through online. Also- I made no attempt to go back into the restaurant to "fix" my order, so that's on me.
The flavor was really good overall, good cheese, couldn't really taste the sauce (which again it had 4 different sauces you could pick from), crust was very thin, but floppy (which I don't mind), but was just looking for something thicker. Pepperoni were yummy!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Alexis,
I am sorry about the crust, it is so hard to work with the online ordering due to our menu complexity. Unfortunately, the pan is only available in Medium or Large. You should have recieved the PIE style but It sounds like you recieved Morones traditional. I am glad you enjoyed the pepperoni! Thanks for your comment. Mangia! Morone's is a great place for Italian food. It is not a fancy place but a solid family joint with great food. I didn't order a pizza, but the table of 3 next to us was loading up with additional carry out to see them through the next week. I odered the stromboli which was loaded up. The crust was excellent and the red sauce was unbelievable. Took extra sauce home so my wife could try it.
My daughter got a medium pizza with a gluten free crust and rave about it. We will be back to try their pasta next time. The place has a very friendly neighborhood vibe, a full bar selections and just the nicest people serving you. Can't wait to come back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Went in because I was craving lasagna and it was close. My boyfriend saw a heavy set woman prepping food in the kitchen with no hair net and no gloves. He spoke with the owner who told him she doesn't need gloves to prep food that is getting ready to be cooked. He didn't disagree. But when he addressed the hair net she told us to go ahead and leave. So we did.
We know she knew better. The two guys working in the kitchen had on ball caps.

Unhyped and unheralded, this little Italian establishment has been around since Jonny Bench crouched behind a Cinncinati plate. Seemingly not found in anyone's must eat list, it does healthy business--the dining room was near capacity at 6 pm. It was my first time eating here; I was surprised it was almost as old as I am, as I was only familiar with it from the marquee next to Coaches in the Bethal Center mall, and decided on a whim to try it out as I waited for friends to meet me for a show.
Old yes, but the fixtures were new. The place has been remodeled a couple times since founding, recently perhaps. I actually was surprised on entry as the reviews correctly pegged it as a non-frills M&P but it looked more swanky at first. The long hall from door to podium was flanked on the left with a slick brown wall topped by beveled glass. The room to the left, which seemed more formal was empty. In the back I heard the reveries of a bar. I kind of wanted to go there as I was in a barflyish mood, but instead I followed the server to the right into a dinning room which was what I expected--a simple mom-and-pop.
Hungering for a good Italian sub I picked the Italian Stallion sub which was like an Italian sub on steroids. (I searched the menu for sides called Adrian squash and Apollo Creed side salad to complete the theme but they weren't listed.) It was filled with meat and was very filling. Although it tasted great and was cook right it didn't have any distinguishing features that would set it apart from any other place. But for $9 it had more meat and a better taste than a similar product from Subway or any other chain has for the price. I added French fries which were a bit too hard, lacked taste and had too high of a water concentration in them. (Or at least it seemed like there wasn't much too them, as if they were made partially of air.) I wouldn't say that fries are in their wheelhouse.
The service was straight from the M&P handbook. They were not trained in the fakery of a corporate wait staff, who'll gives you an inauthentic smile and a scripted introduction. If you are the type that expects that then indy businesses are not for you. I on the other hand like authenticity and don't mind not being showered with fakery. This is not to say my waitress was rude, which is never acceptable, she wasn't. She
did her job well without interrupting too much.
In my one experience this is a nice, easy going place to get a decent bite between destinations on a weekend night, or an easy get away on a busy weekday.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jim D.Columbus, OH10201Apr 7, 2019Purchased a Yelp Deal
Service is pitiful! We went there and told they were packed and it would be 15 minutes. There were plenty of empty tables. We were waiting where we could see into the kitchen and there was nothing going on. After 20 minutes we left

Thank you for sharing your opinion about our service. We were very busy that evening and actually asked you to wait so we could provide the best service to the seated customers. If you are willing to give us another try, please ask for the manager, we will be happy to provide a true Morone's experience.
