Accessibility Statement

 Manhattan By Sail is committed to making our services available to everyone, including those with disabilities.

Website: We actively work to make sure our website is compliant with the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and are actively engaged in improving our content and presentation of it. On an ongoing basis, we will have periodic website accessibility audits, as well as end-user accessibility testing and evaluation of our website, conducted in order to ensure conformance with WCAG 2.1.

Vessel Access: We strongly believe sailing should be accessible to all, regardless of mobility challenges. The Clipper City Tall Ship, although built prior to the A.D.A., is wheelchair accessible to 80% of the public deck space.  Boarding the vessel usually requires an assist from one of our friendly crew as wakes from ferry boats and tidal change can create challenging conditions. Clipper City has a large main deck with restrooms on the same level. Bathrooms on Clipper City cannot be entered whilst in a wheelchair, but you may transfer from chair to bathroom as we have a grab bars inside. Please reach out to us so we can clarify and make arrangements to ensure the most comfortable possible experience aboard our vessels. We apologize but are unable to accommodate larger electric scooters and wheelchairs. Sadly, the Shearwater Schooner built in 1929 is not wheelchair friendly/accessible.  That said, if you have “the will” to join us, we are grateful for the opportunity to serve, and will do everything in our power to figure out “the way” to allow you to sail on our ships in a manner that respects your needs.

Public Sails

RESCHEDULING OR CANCELLATION BY CLIENT

If you wish to cancel or reschedule your sail, the following policy applies:

– Up to one week prior to your departure, you may message us at +1-212-619-6900 to cancel your booking in exchange for a future sailing credit, valid in perpetuity, or to reschedule, at no additional charge.

– All bookings are final; REFUNDS ARE NOT OFFERED.

– Up to 72 hours prior to departure time, you may reschedule and will be charged a per ticket fee (fee schedule below).

– Rescheduling or cancellation within 72 hours of departure time will result in forfeiture of ticket and all paid value associated with reservation.

– MBS reserves the right to release reserved space 10 minutes prior to departure if customer has not yet checked in at boarding location/ service desk.

– Bookings made within 72 hours cannot be rescheduled and are non-refundable.

 

CANCELLATION DUE TO WEATHER

Sailing is an all-weather activity. However, Captain may need to cancel unexpectedly due to dangerous or developing weather conditions. In this event, MBS will do its best to cancel at least one hour before departure time; and customers will be rescheduled at no additional fee. Refunds are not offered.

 

OTHER CANCELLATION

In the event that Manhattan by Sail cancels a sail due to non-weather-related issues, customers will be allowed to reschedule their reservation (at no extra charge, and subject to availability), receive a Future Sail Credit (no expiration date), or receive a refund of your ticket price. Refund only includes value of the relevant cancelled sail and not any other previously incurred charges, rescheduling fees, or convenience fees.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Pass entitles you to a free or discounted sailing IF you CHECK IN at least 15 minutes prior to your confirmed departure time WITH A VALID PASS.

DUE TO LIMITED CAPACITY, your booking takes the spot of another paying customer (think of it like a theater or sporting event ticket). Manhattan By Sail (”MBS”), WILL NOT RECEIVE PAYMENT from the pass company if you do not present a valid pass at the time of departure. This is how the pass works.

MBS will place a hold on your card (similar to a hotel or rental car reservation) for the LISTED RETAIL PRICE. This held amount will be charged IF — FOR ANY REASON — you do not show up with a VALID PASS at the date and time of departure that is specified in your confirmation email from MBS. IF your card is INVALID or is REJECTED when MBS attempts to place the manual hold on the card provided by you, MBS will cancel your booking and notify you with a cancellation email. No further communication will be forthcoming from MBS.

Bookings with a pass CANNOT BE CANCELLED. They can be rescheduled free of charge up to one week prior to departure date. They can be rescheduled with a fee up to 72 hours prior to your departure time. Once within the 72 hour window, no changes can be made to your booking. Please understand that IF you do not SHOW UP or your PASS is INVALID at the time of departure, MBS will not receive payment from the pass company and the card you provided will be charged the FULL, non-discounted, RETAIL PRICE.

Please DO NOT book if this is not acceptable to you. If you still decide to risk being charged, we welcome you to reserve in advance and are excited to deliver you an awesome experience! 🤗
