Was given a groupon gift cert and this is our 2nd class. Rico is in point and is very attentive. We requested not to rotate since we wanted to maximize our classes and he definitely accommodated us

If you want to learn salsa, this is the place. Definitely signing up for the next level.

      Thanks Rico

I've had an amazing time learning from Tianne and Ricardo. Not only do I learn really great technique, I'm always having an amazing and fun time in class. I started taking lessons about a year ago and decided to join RicaSalsa's beginner team-in-training called Rica Estilo. Since then I've advanced to RicaSensacion (its intermediate team) and now to get to perform and compete!

I've tried taking lessons from others in the Bay Area but it was never the same experience I get from dancing with RicaSalsa. Ricardo & Tianne are both Top 5 World Salsa Champions and you can definitely see it in their amazing dancing and teaching technique.

I highly recommend taking lessons with RicaSalsa - they're awesome!

I came here for the Monday night beginners class with a friend on a Groupon. We both had a blast!!!

Class lasted an hour and our instructors Ricardo and Tianne were high energy and excellent teachers. Through repetition we learned a few steps and a very basic "routine". I've taken salsa classes before and never were this intense! And not in a scary way, but man I was sweating! I really got into the class, enjoying myself dancing away. While my other salsa classes were fun, it just did not measure up to how involved I got here learning. They change the music frequently and you change partners, keeping everything fresh. It's really up to you how much you get out of this class, but if you leave wanting it's not because of Ricardo and Tianne. They are excellent, detailed instructors that really motivate you. I would come back in a heart beat!!!

While normally I would look at a page like this on Yelp with so many 5-star reviews by people with less than 10 reviews I would instantly be highly skeptical of whatever I read.

Luckily I can attest that I am not a clever marketing ploy! I originally found Ricasalsa dance when I was searching for some good salsa classes to take back in '08. I scoured the city for good salsa classes to take and after taking quite a few I found that Ricardo and Tianne's class was the most digest-able, learn-able, and comfort-able class of them all.

Both teachers have a keen eye and can spot the one tiny detail like feet positioning, you as a student were overlooking that suddenly makes everything a lot easier.

All in all, great teachers to learn from.

Bought a Livingsocial deal for beginner dance classes here. They were definitely fun and interesting! Ricardo and Tianne were really good instructors, as everyone says they are indeed funny and full of energy. We went 5 times, and never once saw them "phone it in", they were always there 100% and full of life.

My only complaint is that after 2 or 3 classes, the beginner 1 class starts to get a little old. The steps are not super difficult to learn, and they teach it well. So I tried Beginner 1.5 class, and WOW that was a HUGE step up from beginner 1. The jump up in difficulty is so amazingly high, I felt lost the entire time during 1.5.

Anyway I would still recommend this to anyone interested in trying out Salsa. Added bonus, car parking is super easy around the area!

Found this gem of a place through Groupon. I had never taken a single salsa lesson before I walked through the doors of this dance studio, so I had no idea what to expect.

Needless to say I was hooked from the get-go. After my 2 groupon sessions were over I promptly signed up for more. Ricardo & Tianne are great teachers, and the beginner classes are fun and challenging. But you don't have to be worried about just dropping into a class. They teach you the very basic of what you need to know at the beginning, then you pair off and they show you some fun moves for the remainder of the hour. One day I'll get brave enough for the intermediate class...

We planned to do a special first dance so we checked out a salsa class with RicaSalsa at Glass Kat. I didn't expect it to be so crowded, or fun. You rotate and switch partners every 20 seconds or so. That's cool if you're trying to meet new people but not so much when you want to see if you and your fiancee can get through a whole minute of salsa together.

The instructors were great and when we emailed about private lessons, very responsive. Unfortunately, we didn't have the time to get lessons and practice so we ended up with a more typical first dance. Still, I knew people enjoyed it after I looked at the wedding pictures.

Last summer I finally decided to take my interest in salsa dancing seriously so I signed up for Rica Salsas 8 week summer workshop and then I just never stopped going. Now my whole schedule revolves around when my classes are. It has also impacted other aspects of my life very positively. My fitness has improved and I am now more focused on specific goals at the gym, for example, I have to build up my core, my posture has to improve, etc. I watch hardly any TV anymore because if I'm not in class I feel like I have to practice or be out social dancing. Ricardo and Tianne are like guides, a driving force that just makes me want to get better and better.

Encouragement, you'll find tons of it from both Ricardo and Tianne and your team mates.

Confidence, this will grow in leaps and bounds, in general but specifically in your abilities as a dancer.

Hotnes, well it is salsa............and have you seen any of Ricardo and Tiannes routines on youtube................need I say more!

I recommend checking out one of their classes or workshops to see for yourself. I did and I have only one regret and that is that I should have done it sooner!

There is so much to say about this team. Rica Salsa was the "IT" and is still the "IT" of salsa in the bay area. Most everyone I know, who are now amazing dancers and/or directors, started with Ricardo and Rica Salsa at some point of time. This company has gone through many iterations in it's life, but now it is stronger and more talented then ever.

I started dancing Salsa almost 10 years ago with directors Danny and Stephanie who began with Rica Salsa. So it was logical for me to join this team over 2.5 years ago. I have never regretted it since, and I am still amazed daily at the talent Ricardo and Tianne have together, and what they instill in their students. Their fusion of strengths between creativity, training, support, musicality, and much much more can never be touched. I am very excited to continue working with them and highly recommend the team to everyone.

First and Foremost, I love that Rica Salsa tries to "expand" the dance to other dance genres; meaning that what they present to the salsa community is a mixture of difference dances...we're not supposed to look like anybody because to our knowledge, no one else tries to do what Ricardo and Tianne are doing...so if we look different, if we have a little edge, if we work the dance around the music, if we "frame" the woman to look good first, and you feel good watching/ dancing/ grooving to what Rica Salsa does, then trust the feeling and have fun with it...and you know what, go one more step, take that feeling and put it into action and go check out what Rica Salsa is all about...

I put feeling into action and the "ride of my life" hasn't stopped!...Rica Salsa has been the best thing to happen to me in a long time, and the best part is that it just keeps getting better and better...

Does that make you want to "at least check out what's the buzz's all about?" GOOD...If you want to join a "family oriented, goal oriented, FUN oriented DANCE company," come check us out!...
