Namaste Fairfax! Get out your sewing kit cause after a few classes you'll need to re-hem your pants as the instructors will ply you into an inch longer pant.
This is a beautiful place to come for your regular yoga practice. The studio carries a serene calming influence and the instructors are the same. The instructors are oh so stretchy and upbeat and carry an inner energy that creates a joyful atmosphere. The daytime classes offer sunlight shining through the high windows and the glow that's created by the golden draperies create a glowing effect in the room. All who attend classes are friendly and the surrounding make for a fun experience.
Just opened at the end of 2009, the hatha/bikrum style studio offers 3 classes a day 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. A newbie special runs for now $10 for a week's worth of classes - the best deal in town.
There is enough challenge for the seasoned yogi and excellent instruction for those newer to the discipline. try it you'll like it.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sara J.Austin, TX52257636Jun 14, 2010
Yoga Fairfax has all the right ingredients to become the premier yoga studio in Marin.
*Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful teachers? Check.
*Reasonably priced classes (including student discounts)? Yep.
One free class a week? You betcha.
Easy parking? Super easy.
My hot yoga class today was interesting, challenging, empowering and healing. The 90 minute sessions draw from several different yoga modalities to create a one of a kind class. I recognized most of the postures from my experience doing Bikram and Hatha however a good amount were totally new to me as well, which is always fun. There was even downward facing dog today. Yay!

The Yoga Lab is a total mind/body sanctuary in Fairfax!
The heat is perfect (body temperature).
The slow flow style is challenging yet accessible to all levels.
The teachers are amazing. Each has their own yet similar style. Jeff is one of the best teachers I've ever run across. If you have a chance, take his class! Jeanne teaches a firm class that is athletically based. Heather is innovative and challenging. Marc is the master of back-to-basics. Helaine is quirky and fun!
Free yoga for certified instructors!
Everyone should check out this place and experience the yoga for themselves!

This is the greatest yoga place ever. And while I'm a little confused by the name, (I don't feel like I'm in a lab or a lab rat, in fact, just the opposite), I love this place. Jeanne and Jeff are so friendly, remember your name after months and teach really great classes. They are fine if you can't do a pose or if you want to change it in a way that is right for your body. I have been to lots of hot yoga places in Palo Alto (pretentious) in SF (unfriendly instructors) and have found The Yoga Lab to be the best. They walk the walk and talk the talk by giving a free class on sat afternoons, participating in fundraisers for cancer community and renting out their space for kid's classes for basically nothing. Take a class, you'll feel great and be glad you did! They will even call you by name when you do a pose that looks like you are trying!

I love Yoga Fairfax. Genie and Jeff and all the instructors are very positive and encouraging. The instructions are very clear and I love the flow of the class. It combines great breath work with a full aerobic work out and numerous yin stretches.

I recently moved to the area and looked at several yoga studios in the area.
Yoga Fairfax is simple and yet challenging yoga. I found many of the studios in the area to be more about commercializing yoga; this studio is about great yoga and a strong work out. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming.
A must try if you are looking for yoga that is back-to-the-basics great.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tom M.South San Francisco, CA08Jan 6, 2011
Yoga Fairfax is a wonderful environment to practice Yoga. People of all levels feel comfortable in sessions led so well by Jeff and Jean. Lots of support, helpful instruction and while they take their work seriously, Jeff and Jean take themselves lightly, creating an atmosphere that is rich in learning. Outstanding people, outstanding Yoga.

An exceptional place for Yoga. All classes are warm room yoga, welcome to all levels and it truly is "All Levels" Some people are very advanced and some are like me, still learning to balance on one leg. All are welcome and I am very happy I found this place to practice. I've got some weight to lose and still feel comfortable here. A supportive environment.

I have tried yoga a handful of times over the years but I never liked it. It was either too hot, too slow, too boring or the instructor talked too much. All that changed when I tried the yoga lab a couple weeks ago. After three classes I can say this studio is a perfect fit for me!
