MISS BASKETBALL
Awarded annually to the girl voted the state's top
basketball player by the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan.
Originally awarded in conjunction with the Lansing State Journal (1981-1987)
 the Detroit Free Press took over the roll of co-sponsor in the fall of 1988.

Girls basketball was a Fall sport in Michigan through the 2006-07 school year.  It
 moved to the Winter sports season beginning in 2007-08.
