Nathan Michaels Salon

Goodbye to bad hair days! Been going to Nathan Michaels for 6+ years which is probably the best thing I can say about the shop ... I keep coming back! When I walked in as a new client, was greeted as if I was one of their long-time regulars and immediately clicked with this dynamic, fun environment.

Salon.
- New chairs
- New workstations
- Always clean
- Plenty of free parking right in front of shop. I prefer the shaded spots in the Summer.

Stylists.
- 7 stylists ... always professional, fun and smiling
- I really enjoy that they help me with tips on how to take care of my hair and style when I'm away from the salon

I recommend this salon to all my family and friends.

So I've been trying to set up an appointment with Kristina for months since friends just rave about her. Fortunately, this past Christmas I was able to gnab a sweet afternoon time slot. I have straight black asian hair that was in dire need of some shape. I told Kristina I wanted to keep the long length (took awhile to grow out!) but to add some pizzazz to the do. she was not only uber friendly and charming, she cut my hair amazingly! She blew dry it at the end so I left the salon with fluffy curls which soon after generated compliments around town! Yay! Fantastic- can't wait to see Kristina reel in more customers and create more awe-tastic do's!

oh and their blowdryers hanging from the ceilings is quite the modern day design! I WANT!!

Though this place is pretty hard to find since it's tucked away and hidden, it is where I will be taking my hair-care to from now on. The salon is tiny but cozy. The environment is welcoming and the stylists are lively.

I saw Kristina there today after making an appointment. She's amazing! She handled my hair really well and my highlights came out Exactly how I wanted.

I chased my favorite stylist, Kristina, here from her previous employment. She's fantastic with color and cut! I highly recommend her.

Unfortunately, unlike at Kristina's prior salon, the product they use at Nathan Michaels' for hair dying are lower end products. While the color was great, my poor hair feels like straw. :'( And since I've had my hair dyed by Kristina several times before, I know it's not her!! AND, it's not like the prices were cheaper either.

I have been a dyed blonde for years and I am well accustomed to walking out of a salon with my dyed hair feeling NICER than when I walked in. Unfortunately, I've come to realize it's all about the product...

I can only guess the other reviewers who had their hair dyed haven't ever tried a salon that uses better products. I recommend finding a salon that uses Aveda or Davines - those are the two product lines I've found that leave my hair heavenly to the touch.

Mike at Nathan Michaels has been cutting my hair (and my mom's) since I was in middle school. Until about a year ago, I mostly continued getting my hair cut at Nathan Michaels out of convenience and comfort, but now I know that Mike is truly a talented hairdresser!

For years and years, I had long hair that he usually did the same thing to on each visit: face-framing layers, light layers in the back, and a side part or bangs. Last year, I decided to chop off all my hair for Locks of Love (something Mike had actually already done for me when I was a sophomore in high school) - I was extremely nervous to see how he did with a short cut, but he found the PERFECT short style for my hair.

I went to a couple of other hairdressers in college who did an okay enough job, but Mike keeps my hair in good shape! He doesn't just listen to what I want, he explains what my hair needs (and promises not to chop all my hair off if I take good care of it ;P) I may not go back to long hair for a loooong time since I love my short style so much, but if I do, I know Mike will help me find my right look!

I am one of those finky people that if I don't like what you did with my hair - I won't go back. So I bounced from stylist to stylist. . . . Three years ago I happened to get Kristina when I walked into a salon in my neighborhood. She was and continues to be AMAZING. I was so happy when she moved back closer to 'home' in the Greenhaven area.

Over the past three years, she has counseled/suggested hairstyles (depending on my mood), cut and colored my hair and I ALWAYS get compliments on it. Have even referred several co-workers to her and they have all been very pleased with her work. She is amazing and I highly recommend her!

Honestly, they must be doing something right, because when I called them today, (a gentleman answered the phone, I don't know who he was) they didn't have time to do even a haircut, let alone a color job until later next week. They must have too much business. This Yelp listing says that they aren't appointment only (meaning they take walk-ins) but I guess that is really not true. Call ahead; way ahead, this is not a place for bad hair days

I have been with the same stylist for a long time but since moving to the pocket, I didn't want to drive so far so I tried out a new salon. I had to get my hair touched up last minute so I called the same day as I needed to get in. She made me an appt for 1. Little did I know, it was the owner who was doing my hair and she always leaves by one to get home to her kids. But when I mentioned I'm a mom of two and it's super hard to get an appt and I had a family photo shoot the next day, she stayed late just for me, not knowing me at all.

The salon was beautiful, calming, and she was amazing! Very nice, but not over the top, which some stylists are. My hair turned out perfectly which, as some of you know, is really hard to get blonde hair right. This salon is tucked away but if you are looking for a stylist in the area this is the one to go to. I know I have found my new salon.

Highly recommend!!!!! The owner, Debra, is a fantastic hair stylist. Doesn't mess around, or get distracted .... she devotes every minute you are there to you. She is the most consistent hair stylist I've had in a very, very long time. I drive clear from Folsom to the Pocket Area because I'm so happy with her!

I followed Kristina here from Mecca salon and make the drive all the way to green haven just to have her cut and color my hair. She does a great job and doesn't usually need to hear much from me to know just what I'm looking for. Have been seeing her about a year now and she does a great job on my hair which has been a challenge for stylists in both lower and higher-end salons. She is fun to talk to, down-to-earth and has a great eye for what will look good. Plus she has a business facebook page to keep you updated on new salon products and deals. Highly recommend!
