Day Clinic Itinerary

This class is jam-packed full of information.  The class runs from 10am-3pm, but occasionally runs overtime till 3:30pm.  You should bring an "easy" lunch as we will be working/lecturing while you eat. The basic outline of the day is as follows:
-Shelter Construction
-Fire-by-friction
-Water collection and purification
-Tools and misc. skills
-Food (Edible plants, primitive traps, survival hunting)

All instructors for this class have extensive knowledge and experience in Wilderness Survival.  The 4 current instructors have all been teaching indigenous skills and wilderness survival for over 10 years each and have tought with numerous groups from law enforcement, to boy scouts, military, college groups, community centers, schools, and the general public. IMPORTANT LABOR LAW NOTICE: Our staff is required by law to take a 10 minute break during their work shift.  This is a great opportunity for you as well to catch your breath, eat a snack, or drink some water.  Please do not get upset with our staff or encourage them to skip the rest break - it is required by law.

Transportation
Adventure Out does not provide transportation to the camp.  However there are several options in addition to driving:

-The Santa Cruz Metro bus (
www.scmtd.com) offers service to downtown Boulder Creek. Exit the bus at the Hwy 9 and Lomond street stop. Please advise Adventure Out at least 24 hours before the clinic if you will be arriving by bus. We will pick you up at the stop which is only 2-3 minutes away from camp.

Money
Your clinic will be reserved and paid for ahead of time - there is no need to remit payment at the class.  However, our guides work very hard to show you a good time and do accept gratuities - it is an excellent way to show thanks for a good class.
 Recommended Gear List
We provide all the equipment for your survival adventure! Just come prepared with clothing to spend a day in the outdoors(sun or rain protection as needed), lunch, snacks, & water, and a notebook & pen to takes notes.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

There is a 7-day cancellation policy for all 1 and 2 Clinics, Classes, & Lessons; and a 28-Day cancellation policy for all multi-day camps, medical certifications (WFR / WFA), and overnight Adventure Trips. Any cancellation made before this time will receive a full refund (minus a $5 per person PER CLASS DAY cancellation fee - for example a 2-day class would have a $10 fee per person, a 3-day class would have a $15 fee, etc). Reschedules/transfers will also be charged the $5 PER DAY fee outside of the 7/28 day period as well.Once within the cancellation period (7 days or 28 days respectively), there will be no transfers, reschedules, or refunds allowed (full refunds will be made if Adventure Out is forced to cancel a program).PLEASE NOTE: The cancellation deadline is determined by the starting time of the activity. A class starting at 9am on Saturday must be cancelled by 9am on the PREVIOUS Saturday in order to receive a full refund. Even if our office is closed, you may cancel by email - time stamps are recorded for all incoming emails to our office. PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL BY PHONE - ALL CANCELLATIONS MUST BE IN WRITING (EMAIL).

REGARDING TARDINESS: Being more than 10 minutes late to a class or trip shall constitute a no-show and forfeiture of all funds. We work hard to give our clients a great experience, but we cannot do that for all participants if some show up late.  If you are more than 10 minutes late to your reservation, you will be turned away and will not be eligible for a refund, reschedule, or compensation of any kind.  Please respect the other students in your program and your instructors schedule, and BE ON TIME.

Additional Terms
Purchasing and/or participating in activities and programs with Adventure Out LLC shall constitute a full release of liability and assumption of risk for any and all claims that may arise from your participation in Adventure Out programs and purchasing of our services. Participants expressly agree and promise to accept and assume all of the risks existing in this activity. Participants agree that their participation in this activity is purely voluntary, and elect to participate in spite of the risks. Participants expressly agree to:
1) Voluntarily release, forever discharge, and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Adventure Out LLC (and their staff, employees, owners, directors, and agents) from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action, which are in any way connected with one’s participation in these activities or Participant’s use of Adventure Out LLC’s services, equipment, or facilities, including any such claims which allege negligent acts or omissions of Adventure Out LLC (and their staff, employees, owners, directors, and agents).
2) Should Adventure Out LLC or anyone acting on their behalf, be required to incur attorney’s fees and costs to enforce this agreement, Participants agree to indemnify and hold them harmless for all such fees and costs.
