What to Eat at the Three Hens, Opening Tomorrow in Kips Bay

You’d expect a restaurant called the Three Hens to offer intriguing egg dishes, and a Scotch egg with bacon vinaigrette and frisée, or a savory French toast with jalapeños and fontina might fit the bill. Restaurateur Shiva Natarajan (Dhaba) is going for American comfort food with a twist — like fennel-chile oil and Thai basil in a tomato soup, or candied jalapeños atop poached salmon, prepared by chef Colin Kruzic (Jo’s). The eatery will be open for lunch, brunch, dinner, and late night on the weekends (a good time to try something from the house-infused cocktail list). See the menus here, and scope out some dishes and the space in our slideshow.
