This Westside restaurant/bar will get you decked

Doling out French/Southern cuisine by Chef Ryan Stewart (formerly of Buckhead Life/The Glenwood) starting next Wednesday, The Porch's cabin-like exterior, brick-backed wooden bar, cozy-leather-couched lounge, and calming, canopy-covered rooftop deck keep things unpretentious and nostalgic, or what Stewart calls "a love letter to the traditional roots", although probably to LeVar Burton specifically.

LeVar Burton would definitely want you to start with house-smoked trout dip or fried calamari & chorizo w/ microgreens, while those feeling cheesy should get the Stilton/Brie/goat Gouda Farmhouse Platter w/ a grain baguette & pickled onion, or twice-baked goat cheese souffle w/ walnuts and a salad of red & gold beets, which Miles Austin single-handedly took care of on Sunday.

Fill out thanks to a lamb burger w/ jalapeno goat cheese, grilled grouper w/ Szechuan eggplant & ginger cilantro rice, braised short ribs and red wine jus, house-bacon-covered shrimp & cheese grits smothered in red eye gravy, also what you call any free cocktails on late-night AirTran flights.

Speaking of drinks, they've got 12 tapped brews such as Stone Ruination Double IPA, 13 bottles including high-gravity Arrogant Bastard, and mixed swigs from peanut butter cup martinis to a chipotle Bloody Mary called "Drink 2 of These & Forget About Last Night", a completely insane desire if LeVar Burton was in any way involved.
