I was treated horribly by the instructor Catherine. It was only my second time in the studio. I was 10 minutes late. And I was reprimanded in front of the entire class like I was a child. The instructor said it would be dangerous for me to continue the class because I wasn't warmed up. But I swear we weren't even halfway through the warm-up. Ice stayed after constant bullying and hostility from the instructor: Catherine. Because Another student I wanted to be part of the mean girls club she joined in on the bullying. My first pole dancing experience was at Evolv many years ago. I believe that studio is closed now. So after years of wanting to get back into pole I decided to try this class. I'm happy I only did the three session deal because it has become apparent that this studio Bespun is nothing like the Black lead and diverse pole class I'm used to. I find, Catherine, the instructor to be extremely rude, mean, callous, and racist. So bully me about being late is comically racially charged. Mind you, I was late to my first class-- and so was another participant. I paid my money just like everyone else. I should be able to take the class without such nastiness. If she wanted me to warm up even more that could've been a compromise. Like I said I stayed and I did the warm-up. Again they weren't even halfway through with it. I had no issue with my first instructor. But Catherine had an issue with me. She continued to be angry and condescending throughout the entire class. I recommend you stay far away from her in this place.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and we are sorry to hear that you felt uncomfortable during your recent visit. Please know that our aim is to provide a positive and inclusive environment for all students.
At BeSpun, we do have a strict 5-minute late policy where students who are more than 5 minutes late will not be admitted to class and therefore will be deducted one class credit. We want to assure you that this is in place to ensure a focused and seamless learning experience for all participants and to ensure a proper warmup is completed for safety purposes. As part of our commitment to transparency, we make it a point to communicate this policy through multiple channels, including posting it on our establishment's door, listing it on our policies page online, and including it in the email sent to students upon class sign-up. We want to ensure that everyone is aware of our guidelines from the outset.
In regards to your specific situation, it seems there may have been a misunderstanding. Our instructor had the responsibility to enforce our 5-minute late policy and maintain the integrity of the class. In your review, you mentioned that you were 10 minutes late and they were only following protocol for late arrivals. Multiple reminders had to be given to you during the session which were not heeded and that ultimately led to several disruptions during class.
We value every student's participation, and we regret any discomfort you may have experienced. We also understand that our policies may not be for everyone and therefore we will be issuing you a refund for your intro special, voiding any remaining class credits. If you have any further concerns or would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please feel free to reach out to us directly at info@bespun.com. - Irena M.Los Angeles, CA11710Sep 25, 2023
I love this studio, such a wonderful atmosphere, the instructors are so supportive, fun and talented! They made modifications for anyone who needed it, patiently helped when I was struggling with something, and taught us a good amount in just one class. Not only did I have a blast during these classes, it was also a serious workout. I can't recommend BeSpun Studio enough -- if you're thinking about it, DO IT! You won't regret it!

Our instructor Deborah we are so very grateful & fortunate to have BeSpun available once a week for us. 7-8 poles available, at least one spins. Only thing that would make this better is more room to move around. It's also fun to have props, like a chair. Have not taken any of their classes during week. Very clean studio! Parking best off of Sunset.

Writing this review it's way long over due
The reason I had to mention this is because their customer service skill is very poor
Discrimination toward Asian most likely
The owner wasn't even better at it helping
This is about five years back
And I believe they either kick me out cause I got there late or I started class there but earlier due to traffic is horrible
I never want to go there to face their attitude
So what if someone is late or early
The classes you offer always in traffic time
Hollywood sunset is really bad on this traffic
They basically don't work with you
The rules which is not that important because it doesn't make sense in any legal matter at allHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 3 - Ana T.Los Angeles, CA74416981Dec 5, 2021Updated review
Loved joining the Pole Jam Session! Surrounded myself with positive, like-minded individuals. Great ambiance. At moments, I observed other dancers showcase their phenomenal talent. The human body is amazing! A few dancers provided pointers on shifting my weight to successfully perform a pole trick. All of the night's proceeds went to benefit LA's LGBT Center. Oh! There was a raffle and giveaways from the event's sponsors.

Workout warm-up to "Crush on You" tune.
Warm-ups are the most strenuous. It sets the tone for the remainder of class. Your body will thank you later :) Second time, I signed up for Fox's class and it did not disappoint.Aug 6, 2021Previous reviewThis stretch class is a BEaST!
It is intense. The partner stretches are the most fun = Veronica!
I sincerely enjoy Kyla as an instructor. First time observing Kyla in action and I am impressed. Kyla is respectful on space boundaries. Offered assistance to kindly reposition the hip/arm/leg.
For ex. "Hey if you don't want me touching you, just fold the corner of the yoga mat...if yes I'll just come over".
I needed aid on aligning the body in proper stretch position.
Occasionally, Kyla does a mini pop quiz on the human anatomy (while in stretch form) to anyone willing to participate. An example: "How many muscles are in the QUADRICEPS?"Aug 4, 2021Previous reviewEnjoyed Fox's energy. The routine was a bit fast for a "Slow Flow" class. At times, I had to take a break. I was not the only one. Not my best dance routine. However, the routine really worked my upper core and ab muscles. My favorite part is always twirling and the spins around the pole.
Most memorable class line from Fox: "T*TTIES ON THE FLOOR" lol was the command when we were learning the floorwork routine.Jul 29, 2021Previous reviewAmazing energy! When I first entered the studio for the "Sexy Basics" class; Celine Huang greeted me with a WARM HELLO + WARM SMILE. Celine presented alternative leg tricks options for the students that needed additional time to learn a specific dance move.
Celine is mentally present within the class. She is always scanning the room to observe our conversations by pinpointing improvements while also providing encouragement. Many like Celine's fun sense of humor :)Jul 25, 2021Previous review...AND ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON'S WE TWERK. Bring the platform pleaser heels, knee pads, yoga mat and bottled water. Sunday is BUM day!
Rebecca was the dance instructor for the "Heelography" class. I did not feel pressure to perform a perfect routine. We had a nice chat after class. The leg tricks were a challenge for me and others. Pole dance is a Great Stress Reliever!
Lots of grey rags & spray bottles (filled with rubbing alcohol) to clean the poles are on hand for use.Jul 30, 2018Previous reviewElena is a rockstar. Claudia is fabulous as well. Cool teachers and decent atmosphere. Learning from all the ladies was fun and educational. Everyone really enjoyed the freestyle session at the end of class.

Had a great first ever session today, with my friend who is visiting! Neither of us have pole danced before, but play sports/do yoga, so we have some background strength that helped us out in the class. We were lucky enough to have a 2-on-1 session with Kelsea, who was lovely and very supportive and pumped us up. She taught us lots of moves, from walking, to spins, to fan kicks and head stands at the pole. So much fun! Would totally recommend for a great confidence boost for you and your friends!

I wish I would've known that I would have been sharing a pole, as the studio books more students than poles per class. I got to dance for maybe 5 minutes. Including learning the choreography. Sadly I left feeling as though it was a complete waste of money and time. The instructors choreography was good and I would've liked to actually get to dance it. Super bummed and won't be back. Hopefully this review saves someone from having the same experience as I did.

I love bespun!!! If you're looking to push yourself and learn some amazing tricks and choreography this is the place. First class can be intimidating but after that initial time it gets addicting.
