This place itself is AMAZING! However, a few suggestions to bump up the last star. Today I took my mother in for an hour massage and facial which I purchased through groupon. She was super happy and loved it but there were certain things that as a customer who is paying whether it is a dollar or $300 should be considered.
1) My mothers masseuse kept chewing gum in the middle of our session. How annoying when you are trying to relax and specifically asked for no noise. (However both were very nice)
2) My masseuse sped through the massage and although she did a great job I would have liked to have my full hour as advertised for what I paid for.
3) My mothers masseuse started after mine had began and finished at the same time. So again, I feel like they are rushing through the job to get it done. I had also asked my mom if he had done certain spots like mine had done and she said no. It was very disappointing to hear that because she could have really used the full service.
4) One thing about groupideals is that yes, theyHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 14, 2016Updated review
Nothing is more frustrating than sitting down at your favorite restaurant and ordering your favorite comfort food, only to take that first bite and realize they've hired a new chef. It's a disappointment so deep, it hurts almost as much as finding out your goldfish died after one of the best vacations of your life. Good thing I don't have a goldfish and even better this wasn't one of those disappointing moments at Abuela's house.
This was, however, exactly how I felt after I left an appointment at the completely remodeled Body, Mind, Spirit - which is under new management.
A friend and I quickly learned during our appointment that with the addition of a few new walls, came new therapists and they're just as stiff. They don't ask you what kind of pressure you like or if you have any sensitive areas to avoid or maybe focus a little more on. They simply do not care. At all. Not even if you threw your money at them and asked them to add a tiny candle for ambiance.
With prior management, each client received a questionnaire prior to their session that covered all the bases as far as pressure preferences and additions. The new management has those forms hanging on a wall as if to dangle the idea that you have a choice in front of you just for laughs.
My therapist was originally a male, and my friend's therapist was a female. Somewhere in between being rushed into a couples massage and hitting the lights, our therapists decided to switch. Not that I mind either way, but it was really weird that they didn't even give us a heads up. Rude.
To top it off, my therapists' technique felt like she was attempting to fold soiled baby clothes. If she could have administered my massage telepathically, I believe she would have. It was the worst massage I'd ever received.
What's worse is that we purchased a Groupon that guaranteed us 60 minutes with one area of spot treatment. We only received a 45 minute massage and NO spot treatment. Naturally, I brought it up to the receptionist who replied, and I quote "well, I don't know what to tell you. It could have been worse. You could be as sore as I am right now after the workout I had earlier today".
Woman, I'd rather be sore. At least I would have felt something other than grave disappointment. Never again.
2 stars. Only because they added more orchids to the entrance.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 1Business owner information

Hi Jazmin. I am sorry you had a bad experience. We still hand out the same forms and we are now giving more with our special offers. The orchids are the least of all our changes. The response you received is unacceptable to say the least. I tried looking you up in our schedule to call you and apologize personally, but I don't have anyone buy your name. Please call me, Yamie. I would like to make it up to you and your bad experience will definitely be addressed. Again, my apologies.
Feb 20, 2013Previous reviewI bought a Groupon for a massage and a facial and could not have left happier from this place! It is so quaint and beautiful, like a home away from home. At first glance, the location is not amazing (in between a car wash and a KFC) but once you step out of your car and walk up to the door, it feels like your miles away. The facial was exquisite (it was my first facial ever!) so relaxing and refreshing. The massage was unbelievably well done too. Maria will always have my vote for best masseuse! I truly loved everything about this place and I cannot wait to return. Highly recommended!

New location: 9449 Old Dixie Highway
Body Mind Spirit has moved to another location. They have bid adieu to their hippie, chakra ways and opted for a new, more modern spa-like environment. The best part is that they've maintained their great prices. I love coming here for a complete relaxing experience. The owner is working on creating a zen garden right outside. Great specials, check out their page. My previous review still stands. They have moved to the fancy location but you won't overpay for it.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0Jan 28, 2010Previous reviewZen is in the Air!
Great Massage, Great Price!!
I've been coming to Body, Mind, Spirit for quite some time. I felt it's been my little secret, but they are so amazing...I think it's time to share. ;) This is not a spa-like environment but has more of a hippie, holistic, natural medicine feel. Inspirational posters, shakras, and reflexology diagrams splashed all over the walls to help put you in the zen mindset. Massage prices are great and they offer many styles (hot stone, Swedish, facials, etc.) This truly is Miami's best kept secret. Sometimes you just want a really good massage without overpaying due to a fancy spa or location. And the hippie vibe is rather refreshing! I give it a 5 star rating
Pros: inexpensive, positive ambiance, nonclinical like environment
Cons: If you prefer a beautiful spa-like environment, this is not it. - May 7, 2016Updated review
As a mother's day gift to myself, I visited Body Mind Spirit for a massage and facial. It is now under new ownership. I love the way they have updated their gardens. It is so beautiful. I was invited to receive a courtesy facial and massage after visiting them for their Grand Opening celebration. It was held in the garden and they had music and a fabulous lunch spread.
My massage was with Cary. The schedule runs very smoothly. They don't overbook and make you wait. Although I really won't mind waiting in their beautiful gardens. I was very impressed. She is so spiritual and so lively at the same time. I loved how she said to me "This is a time to honor your body.". How's that for setting the mood. I loved it. I had the 45 minute elite massage. It was very soothing and relaxing. It is different from a Swedish massage, which I also really need in order to get those kinks out of my muscles, but it is just what I need for relaxing. Her transitions were very smooth and I am grateful that they were able to accommodate my special request of no lavender products. Lavender is very often used in Spa and beauty products due to its great relaxing effects, but sadly I am highly allergic. Not all Spas include products without this ingredient. Kudos to Body Mind Spirit.
Then I had a facial with Suzie. She also was very accommodating with my special needs since I have sensitive skin. I had the European facial with extractions. She used an organic lactic acid scrub and I loved the rose water mist she used to balance my ph levels. It smelled awesome. Between the treatments and while I waited for the mask to do its work she also massaged my shoulders and neck. What a treat!
I am very happy with the services and would definitely recommend them to my friends.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0May 27, 2013Previous reviewI bought a Groupon for a massage and facial. The place is not that easy to find but once you find it you won't let yourself forget where it is. What a gem!
The ambiance is very zen and tranquil. It truly provides a Spa experience. The waiting room is quiet, cozy, and calm. I had tea while I waited and enjoyed the zen atmosphere. The massage room is decorated as if you are in an oasis of foliage in the rain forest due to the floor to ceiling windows over looking a tiny but lush garden. They provide you with a nice robe to transfer you from one service to the other. They are very polite and professional.
The massage was good but the facial was great. The tip was not included in my bill or maybe I missed it and if so I generously tipped again. But to tell you the truth they deserved it, in particular the lady that did the facial. - 20469931Apr 15, 2016
The best facial I've had in years. Susan was my aesthetician, she was great! Gentle hands, super patient (I haven't had a facial in a year!) and the prices are really good for what you get.
Don't let the place fool you: this is small but mighty ;-)
I'm definitely coming back in my next trip to the city!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Madeleine C.Miami, FL7514943Jul 23, 2018Updated review
*Prenatal Massage Review*
The place is very cute, tucked behind trees off a street near US1. Beds were comfortable, sheets were clean, smelled nice.. Those are the pros.
The massage was just alright. I kept asking her to focus on certain spots and she didn't seem to really focus on them nor did she use as much pressure as I kept asking her to use. There was also a weird moment where she did some kind of hand motion over my belly for 3 minutes. I wish she had used those 3 minutes to keep rubbing my knots.
I think it's affordable when compared to the other options but it just didn't do it for me. SorryHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jul 14, 2015Previous review*Prenatal Massage Review*

My husband and I booked a massage/facial with Groupons. It took about 3 weeks after calling 10-12 times and leaving messages to finally make an appointment (no one returned our call and this seems to be a problem for many people and is really something that should be addressed).
Our Facials were with Susan - we both paid extra for extractions but I did not feel like she spent a lot of time on either of us for that added service. My husband paid for the acne extractions ($20) and I paid for the regular ($15) but we both got the bare minimum. It was exactly 50 minutes - 10 of that was with a face mask on and 7 of that was under the steamer. My face felt nice afterwards but overall we both felt that the facial was nothing special.
Our massages were with Roberto and they were FANTASTIC! He was very attentive to the requested areas of focus and areas of need.
The spa has had some updates since the last time I was there and the place in general was in nice shape. The "tea" selection in the front left a lot to be desired. They had Winn Dixie Brand loose tea (without the paper coverings) which felt very cheap. A box of 18 Tazo tea bags is only $3-$4 at Publix. No one was sitting or attending to the reception area - they were in the break room when I arrived and in between services were back there as well. You can also overhear any phone conversations while in the treatment rooms which is a. It distracting.
Overall, we would come back for a massage with a Roberto but the likeliness of getting an appointment when I call would cause me to give up real quick. I really want to like this place - they just make it kind-of hard.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Adry G.Miami, FL309442460Jul 6, 2015
Originally I was worried about making an appointment since it took a while for me to get in contact with the business, but it was worth the wait! I do understand that they sold a bunch of groupons so the phones must have been flying off the walls.
The place is extremely clean, the staff members are professional and explain things thoroughly, and can we talk about the amazing ambiance? From the moment I walked in everything was extremely relaxing, this includes the wait area, the receptionist desk, and facial/massage rooms. Even the porch is lounge worthy!
Checking-in was extremely easy. They gave me some paperwork to fill out and let me know exactly what is included in my group-on and what I can include as an add on.
My facialist was extremely nice. The service was thorough and I didn't leave with product residue on my face(ever leave a facial with some cracked mask on your hairline?). I also added an eyebrow wax. Which a bit of a side note- I have been growing them out for months, someone gave me some K-Stewart eyebrows(circa 2009) and took off all my shape and length. In this place she actually listened to what I wanted and fixed them!
My massage therapist was also extremely friendly and kind. She took her time with the massage and from the beginning let me know what type of pressure was included in the massage. She let me know if I was uncomfortable to speak up and she took everything step by step. I also loved the stretching towards the end.
Definitely I will be back! If you haven't gone give them a call, it is worth the wait.
Tips: Ample parking for clients, self serve tea and water, they have books for idle time while you wait, and my groupon expired in March but they made sure to honor it even after it expired.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Garrett H.Miami, FL1101Dec 24, 2017
The wife and I used to be members until they switched owners and moved. We tried to continue, but between being further away and just not having the same feel anymore, we decided to cancel our membership. The business continued trying to bill us, forcing us to put a block on the business.
My wife wakes up to a charge on the card. She calls the credit card company and finds out this place has been consistently trying to bill the card even after 10 months of cancelation of services. Come to find out, they CHANGED their information to make it look legit.
this place has proven to be a FRAUD. DO NOT GO.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sara F.Miami, FL10611Jul 2, 2016
This spa is clean, friendly and centrally located off US1. The welcoming staff was very gracious and accommodating and the spa environment was quiet and serene. The atmosphere, the calming music, and the massage put me into this trance that relaxed my whole body.
The combination of facial and deep tissue was perfect! This particular facial included extractions, deep cleansing, mask and moisturizer. It was clearly the best facial I've ever had. My esthetician looked over my skin and made recommendations and used products that where appropriate for me. Her touch was very gentle, comforting and relaxing. The quality products she used were amazing and my skin looked and felt great when she was done. It doesn't stop there. They also offer a wide variety of services tailored to your specific needs. What a gem! I'll definitely be returning soon.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
