My grandpa took my grandma here on one of their first dates. I feel fairly confident saying that no updates have been made since then. The cinema has a charming appeal but with the Avalon and Oriental much closer to me, I don't see many visits back.
There is table service and the menu prices were reasonable. We had popcorn, it was delicious. Another bonus to this place is that they have ginger ale! Sometimes you just want a ginger ale. The seating is interesting with lots of round tables and chairs and two rows of bar seating. A negative about the row/bar top seating is there is no additional leg room.
I'd go back for an event or if I happened to be in the area.

I was very excited when I heard that Fox Bay was reopening. A movie theater close enough that I can walk to and I was so desperately missing the Big Screen experience.

The reality has been a bit of a mixed bag. Service can vary wildly from visit to visit, having been there to see "Trolls World Tour," "Psycho," and "Irresistible." Food quality also has been inconsistent--sometimes solid and sometimes less so. Sometimes social distancing is enforced by staff, other times not so much.

Some suggestions to improve the experience:

      - Notify patrons of the required gratuity prior to ordering. I shouldn't have to try and decipher the scribbled words on the bill while attempting to enjoy my movie

      - While I know that family films are your forte, these are unusual times. Keep branching out, it was great seeing Psycho on your screen. There are a number of recently released horror flicks that have yet to debut in Milwaukee, such as "Relic," and "The Rental."

      - Gain consistency in policies. The last time we were there, I handed the menu to the server when I was done but they declined to take it this time. What exactly do you think I will do with it? I already ordered so I don't need it cluttering up my space for the next two hours.

I want Fox Bay to succeed, they just need to make it a little easier to do so.

This was my first visit here. The set up was a little different and the chairs are not very comfortable but I received great service. The pina colada was delicious and the cheese sticks were good also , they ran out of wings so i didn't get to try it. The volume in the theater was just so high which made it uncomfortable after a while.

But it has a very old school feel to it which i love, this would be a nice place to enjoy with a few friends while watching a movie. Im just not a fan of the chairs

I have been here a couple times and have liked my experiences to quite an extent. It gives a very interesting feel to things. Unlike big movie locations, this one is a cozy one with smaller theaters and tables for food. My first dining with movie experience so to say! They have 3-4 movies with multiple showings at a time which is nice for a cute little place in Whitefishbay.

I came here for Milwaukee film festival couple years ago and we sat in one of the lower theaters. It was really nice to have small tables for food around your seats (small round tables). They have servers who come and take your order at the table itself. They do have a bar/grill where you can get food and drinks before the show if you'd like. Food is decently priced. The upstairs theaters have row seating.

What is not super comfortable are the chairs! They are like diner chair so not meant to be sat on for long hours.
Staff is really really good and always so pleasant. Parking is a hit or a miss. Sometimes super challenging especially in the summer with street parking, else there is a parking lot in the next street which can be used (its paid).

I would definitely recommend people to check this place out, probably for a shorter movie rather than longer one to avoid the uncomfortable chairs for long!

I am torn between wanting to support this sort of small, independent theater and feeling as if the aging theater needs some attention and updating.

On the positive side, the Fox Bay offers good prices for movies and treats. You get service at your seat, and the menu includes a $5.50 old fashioned that was really quite good. The theater also offers $7 pitchers of soda (and considering most theaters will charge you around $7 for their "small" soda, this seems like quite the deal.) You can also order a selection of sandwiches or appetizers for delivery to your seat. We just got the popcorn, and it was fresh and good. Also, everyone who worked here was quite friendly.

On the negative side, this 1951 theater feels a bit dated (although it was updated two decades ago.) The sound quality was a little iffy. The chairs are more like conference-room chairs rather than typical theater chairs or recliners. The carpeting is a bit worn and ripped in some areas. The theaters upstairs are reached by two flights of stairs, and you have to climb down (and back up) to use the restroom. The screen size was pretty modest. On a Sunday afternoon, there were only four people in our showing, which felt a bit sad.

Fox Bay offers a good price for seeing movies, but it is not what you'd consider a modern, state-of-the-art film experience.

Fox Bay is a fine movie theater. They play children's movies which is useful in a town like Whitefish Bay.

While I think it's a totally fine movie theater, it is not a great place to eat. The whole gimmick is you can get dinner served to you while you watch a movie. While this seems like a good idea on the surface, it's not. The waiters are pretty loud when they ask you for your order in the middle of the movie, and while you normally hope for waitstaff to check back in with you, it's nothing but an irritant during the movie.

The food is also not very good. It's overpriced and tastes like microwaved food.

This place is cute! I love their vintage sign and mannequin in the outside ticket window. This place has a lot of charm, but some areas for improvement. The downstairs bar is very retro and the women's bathroom walls are picture-worthy. However, the theaters are not very accessible. Call ahead to see what accommodations they have, otherwise the multiple flights of stairs may be a burden. In the theater the seating is interesting. They have leather, swivel chairs that aren't the most comfortable, but I think they also make the experience what it is.

Fox Bay has full food and drink service, which is really great! I had a $5 (very strong) old fashioned and coming from Arizona -- a cocktail in a theater would be $12-$15 -- so I was pleasantly surprised. Don't expect the food to blow your mind, but it is enjoyable to snack on some chicken tenders and fries while watching a film. They also have way more options than I thought they would.

Overall, this is definitely a theater to check out. It is a fun date night, and a nice change of pace from a regular movie theater!

This place is different because there are actual tables one can sit at while watching the show (as well as some counter-style seats). This seems weird at first, but the old-fashioned plasticy cushiony chairs are actually really comfortable!

You have waitstaff service, as well. Drinks and food are on the menu.
Parking might be harder on the main street but the side streets are near, as well.

The theater itself is quaint and small, which I don't mind and actually kind of like. But, the volume was so low! I want to really hear the movie and feel the discussion or music. I asked them to turn it up, not sure of they did.

Yesterday was my first time and because I like the homier town feel I'd definitely consider coming here again. I just hope the sound is good!

Great service, fair price and delicious food! The seats are really comfortable and you can get large enough table for enjoy your food while watching movie. The waiters are very friendly and patient. I'm on diet so I ask the waiter which dishes are healthier and have lower calories, he then gives me suggestions about some kinds of chicken or turkey meals. I ordered the chicken chaser wrap, only $10 and served with salad or French Fries. The size of it really surprised me. I guess if next time I want order it, I have to go with my friends. It's really tasty though, and if you cannot finish it at the theatre, they can packed your food for you. So don't worry so much about that.

I just saw Aquaman here on 12/28/18. The pizzas used to be good - hot and crispy. I cannot believe the waitress had a straight face when she brought me my ROOM TEMP pizza. Soggy because it sat around. I ate it because we were already an hour into the show and I was starving; but there was hardly any sausage on it to call it a sausage pizza. The cocktail I had at the bar was just the booze and the mixer - no attempt to add a lemon peel or anything to make it look nice - and it wasn't cheap. I used to love this theater before it was converted to a multi-plex, and I've enjoyed it after--but probably never again. What a shame.

And for goodness' sake, fix the bathroom stall doors so that they actually lock.
