Q:
Me and my wife are attending Cobbs Comedy Club for the first time next weekend to see Josh Blue. Is there a parking lot or a near by parking garage and if so do we need to pay ahead a time to secure a parking spot?
A:
Cobb's does not have a parking lot. There is a parking garage at Filbert and Columbus, which is two blocks away. There are lots about 3-4 blocks away in Fisherman's Wharf.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The venue is small and gives a more intimate experience. It's feel like you're engaged with the overall experience more. Definitely don't sit in the front row... if you don't want to have interaction with the comedians.
I've been here a few times and every time it's a good experience. Definitely give plenty of time to find parking. The food was just ok and adds up quickly! Eat ahead of time for sure! There is a two drink a minimum. I will definitely go back. Good times!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Daniel D.San Francisco, CA1115623Mar 2, 2024
For $40 and a two drink minimum, you get two performances that were just fine. I was also livid that the security guard wouldn't let me walk out with Liquid Death, and yes, he knew it was water. He said it'd put their liquor license "at risk". No idea how that is true...
The two drink minimum is an antiquated business model; you get interrupted multiple times while listening to the sets that you are paying to see to order drinks that you may not want. It also alienates people who don't drink and would prefer to spend that money on something like food instead. Just charge what you want to charge in the ticket price...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ray D.Hayward, CA2463Feb 10, 2024
Cobb's is such a dope way to cap off date nights. They always have a solid collection of comedians on stage every time we come through. Drinks are typically strong and chocolate lava cake is always a great way to end the night.
Only deducting one star bc of a slight mis-advertisement. I paid to see Yannis Pappas on 2/9 @9pm. By the time they were saying "thanks for coming to Cobb's, have a great night", Yannis never stepped foot on stage. No explanation for why he didn't show up. Not a huge deal but would have been nice to get a heads up the main comedian was a no-show.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - Apr 21, 2024
Enjoy the Cobbs to see some of the funniest Comedians, the venue is intimate not too intimate like some of the other places that pack you in shoulder to shoulder. The staff were friendly and attentive, the drinks were very much watered down for the price . The phone locking system was pretty smooth checking in and out . Fun place to enjoy a show .

It's a comedy club where funny joke-tellers come and go! The venue is pretty big so it's not an intimate setting (good or bad depending on how you look at it). They have a 2 drink minimum. The cheapest non-alcohol drink is $7 so expect to pay at least $14 plus tip. I think I like The Punch Line San Francisco better, but Cobb's is a solid comedy club and somewhere fun to go in North Beach!

Cool place to watch a show but hard to park (hard to Uber too due to lack of reception), they turn the lights off so eating is hard, and most everyone shares a table. Staff is cool.
Bathrooms are limited.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 2048372858Apr 1, 2024Updated review2 check-ins
Came here for my second comedy night. Impromptu. The place was not packed and we locked out that we were the only ones at our table. Service was unfortunately slow and we watched as everyone around us was served despite us being one of the first ones to be seated. I'd never heard of the comedian but she kept me laughing. Overall enjoy this spot and glad we were able to come back

Absolutely loved the experience. Sat in Row A, table 12 seat 4....which is basically 3rd row back from the stage (each table has 4 seats, two in the front of the table and two in the back of the table. Except for the very very first row of seats that have only 2 seats in the back of the table...hence why we were in the "third" row). Anyway, we were close to the stage. Didn't grab food but they have a full menu...the couple at the table with us got chicken tenders and fries and they looked good. To drink I got the double rum punch and it was strong !
Overall great time, can't wait to go back - Jan 16, 2024
I've been to Cobbs many times over the years and I've always had a great time.
It's a medium sized comedy club in North Beach with floor and balcony seating. There are even bar stools against a small bar top against the wall on the floor level, I assume for some singles that attend a show.
We arrived about 30 minutes before the show and I'm so glad we did. There is some reserved seating on the floor, but it's primarily first come first serve. And most tables are four tops, so if you're a pair you are going to share a table. And they are small tables.
But because we arrived early, and our usher was amazing enough to offer it, we got a two top on the balcony. BIG shout out to Front Office (that was our usher). Along with hooking us up with a table all our own, and with a great view, he also passed by several times and chatted a bit and dropped a couple jokes for us. Just a good energy.
It's a two drink minimum (food doesn't count). We did order food, chicken strip basket and a hamburger. They were edible. Not bad, but nothing amazing. The ranch was actually my favorite part. My lemon drop was really good though, and I ordered two. My boyfriend got a beer and a soda. Our waitress was also a sweetheart. She even complimented my purple eyeshadow.
The theatre has good sound, good lighting, and is big enough to fit a lot of people, but small enough to still feel intimate. On a couple of occasions in the past the comedian stayed after and did a meet and greet.
For this show I went to box office in person and bought the tickets ahead of time. Saved me around $24. The box office is open a short window of time (like 1 - 3 PM few times a week or something like that) so I had to go at my lunch. I just enjoy having a physical ticket in my hand, and if Jordan Klepper had stayed after for autographs I would have had something for him to sign. We attended the first of two shows that night so no meet and greet.
I highly recommend seeing a show at Cobbs.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Amy M.San Francisco, CA831594Apr 25, 2024
The service is so bad it's funny (har har). I don't understand why they find it so hard to seat people at a club where they have staff dedicated to SEATING PEOPLE AT A CLUB. Truly I cannot comprehend why it is such an indignity EVERY time. No, we don't want to sit behind a pole when the whole joint is empty. I just can't. They give out free tickets on the table to future shows and even with that I just can't do it anymore. It's so painful.

Despite the rainy weather, the comedy club experience had a friendly host who set a welcoming tone. However, the security staff's demeanor was notably rude, impacting the overall enjoyment of the evening. When the comedian tells the audience to take down his IG account and he's spelling it- let the guest do so. You have a job because of the guest! Great table service & clean bathroom otherwise.
