Do not go here!
Especially if you are thinking of buying their groupon!!!
They tack on an extra $10-15 for an oil change because they claim the fine print doesn't include certain types of oil and the full amount of oil that most cars need. And that's just the beginning.
I brought my car in for a typical oil change and my car sounded fine when I brought it in. Immediately after I leave, my car sounds HORRIBLE. They pointed it out to me and said that they can do a diagnostic and such and that it would cost about $4,000 to $6,000 to fix a serious problem (that hadn't existed before I went in).
Terrible, terrible, shady business that will try to take advantage of you.
I brought my car to another shop to get it appropriately fixed for way less.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Mike, I remember your ford escape well and I feel your review is very unfair and incorrect. When you arrived, before we even started the service my technician and I pointed out the engine noise and also showed you the dipstick which had no oil on it. Oil is a very critical item for your engine and needs to be maintained or internal engine damage will occur. Yes I did give a "worst case scenario" estimate of $4000-$6000, but also explained to you that this was a complete guess and we need to evaluate your motor before we could make any serious recommendations for repairs and the cost. The groupon was for 5 quarts of 5w/30 motor oil and your vehicle takes 6 quarts of 5w/20 blended synthetic (required by Ford) and yes there is extra cost for that and I explained all of that before you signed the work order. I can't give sales tax away. The disposal fee is in the fine print and was also explained to you prior to signing the work order. I'm glad you were able to get your vehicle fixed at a reasonable price, I really felt bad for your predicament at the time. If we were actually given a chance to evaluate your motor, we could have possibly given you other options than the "worst case scenario". But when a vehicle arrives with no oil on the dipstick and internal engine noise I feel it's my responsibility to prepare you for a worst case scenario than sugar coat the situation.

$1,500 fuel pump replacement. = Total rip off. The dealer doesn't even charge that much! If you don't want to be ripped of better look elsewhere.

I'm sorry you feel you paid too much but the amount you state we charged also includes the tow charges for your vehicle (which are set by the tow company not by us), diagnostic time and sales tax. Which I'm sure was not included in any price you were given by dealer or any other shop. So when comparing prices please take those fees into consideration. These charges are all broken down on the invoice and were explained to you before we proceeded with any repairs. If you would like to discuss this matter further please fill free to contact me.

We chose this place because of its high Yelp ratings.
But when I saw the "People Love Us on Yelp" sticker on display, alarm bells went off in my head. The sticker made me think of the rash of allegations about Yelp manipulating ratings in favor of businesses that buy advertising products from Yelp.
My qualms were quickly dispelled after speaking with the guy behind the counter. His affable mien and frank demeanor made it apparent why customers would like this place.
Friendly service aside, I have no idea whether William Michael did a good job or not because I'm not a mechanic. All I can say is that (a) it was a pleasant experience getting my car serviced here but (b) its regular price (without a coupon) seems kind of high.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - john p.San Jose, CA1683311Jun 23, 2008
What a great auto shop! Was referred by a friend to come here for service on our Toyota RAV4 (90k mile service). Frank (the owner) guided us through the proper sequence of service for the car and we felt a lot of trust in his abilities.
The work took only a day and our car runs better than ever! Frank was very thorough is his work and his explanations and we are more than happy with our service. Thank you Frank!
We would definetely recommend this auto body shop to anyone looking for quality service at a reasonable price. We will be back for sure!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Brian B.Santa Cruz, CA457144845Oct 19, 2013
All I had done was an oil change, and I went to WM Auto because I got a Groupon that made it pretty cheap. From what I can tell, they do good work. Everyone was friendly at the shop and it seemed fairly clean and upscale, especially compared to your typical auto shop that can be pretty run down.
My only complaint about the business is that they work a strict M-F, 9-5 schedule...which is pretty inconvenient for me since I work in Los Gatos. If it wasn't so out of the way, I'd be pretty likely to head back sometime. They're good people.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Burnette E.Nixa, MO64772Jan 9, 2010
I brought my 2003 Toyota Corolla in for an 80k maintenance. Thinking it was going to take the whole day, I cleared out my schedule for the whole day. It also happened to be the first Monday after a 4-day holiday weekend, so I knew they were going to be busy.
I made an appt online Sunday evening, and received a call Monday morning for me to bring the car in. I came in and they gave an itemized quote that was shockingly low. I tried not to keep my hopes up, thinking they'll charge me up the wazoo post-service. They asked me if I needed a ride back so that I didn't need to wait, but I had brought the hubby to drive me back.
I received a call 2 hours later, telling me my car was going to be done in half an hour. They asked me if I wanted some filters changed, which I declined. I expected them to push me to do the services, but they simply said ok and that I can pick up my car in a couple of minutes.
When I came back to pick up my car, they gave me the itemized charges. It ended up being a couple dollars (chump change) more than they had quoted me originally, and they even changed a brake light for FREE!
I am definitely coming back for future auto services!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nicole G.San Jose, CA10569258Aug 18, 2014
William Michael Automotive was extremely professional, beyond detailed, and provided an easy to understand quote and punch list of items that needed attention. We have a 1999 Chevy Silverado that has the "check engine light soon" lit. They did a very thorough "nose to tail" inspection along with the "check engine light" inspection. Needless to say, this is an older vehicle which I am intending to keep, so I asked them to do a very thorough inspection.
They were very honest as to which were the most critical and gave us the order in which they should be done, providing us with scenarios as to what could occur when replacing one belt (i.e. tension rod may need to be replaced but cannot be determined until the bad belt has been removed) and when doing a detailed 4WD inspection, which allows us to plan for any additional repair if necessary.
This is an establishment that I am passing along to all of my friends and family as a place to get honest work at a fair price.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kevin H.Pleasanton, CA135Aug 31, 2012
I went in there because of an awful vibration under the hood. They could have said, "Sir, we found the problem: your roto-tilled cake mount is worn out; it'll cost you 600 dollars," and I wouldn't have known the difference. Instead, they said, "We found the problem: a bolt fell out of your alternator, so we put another one in." And when said, "Hey, you could have told me that my roto-tilled cake mount was worn out, and I wouldn't have known the difference," the owner replied, "Well, that wouldn't be very honest."
Bottom line: I think I found my regular place.
Bonus: Nice coffee and tea selection.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Teiki K.San Francisco, CA20718041Mar 1, 2012
I found this place thanks to a Google Offer and couldn't have been happier.
I just got an oil change and an inspection and the staff is really friendly and seems very honest. I'm used to always being told my car needs some type of work. But they actually told me my car was in perfect shape and didn't need anything. They also told me that they can take me to and from work next time I come in.
Highly recommended!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alexandra P.Rocklin, CA761247Mar 4, 2012
I came here to get the rear end of my car checked out after another car rear ended me. They we're pretty quick and were able to tell me that no damage was fine. I was in and out in less than a half hour.
Service was quick, efficient, and comprehensive. I'll try to come back if anything needs fixing on my car in the future since they were so quick and accurate. I'm only giving four stars though because I didn't get any actual work done and want to see how they perform on a car before giving a five star rating. However, no complaints!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
