THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The New French Restaurant Review:

Neither new nor French, this West Village eatery takes its name from a now-defunct hipster bar and restaurant in Minneapolis. Its New York namesake doesn’t disappoint. The friendly tattooed waitstaff helps diners pair the handful of (new-world and French) wines with the menu of largely nouveau American fare with some global leanings. The burger, topped with Gruyère and on brioche, is as satisfying a burger as one will get in the area. The beer-and-chili-braised pulled pork sandwich falls apart with flavor. Gingery pho is authentic enough to transport you elsewhere and the tender lamb shoulder pairs nicely with its Niçoise olives, stewed peppers and greens. This Hudson Street eatery feels like a neighborhood spot, but it’s worthy of a cross-town trek.
