How Long Does Recovery From Eyelid Surgery Take?
After your surgery, you may initially experience pain, bruising, and swelling. This irritation can be remedied with cold compresses and pain medication. You may also experience sensitivity to light or temporary blurred vision. This is normal and no cause for concern. Strenuous activities, such as vigorous exercise, should be avoided to allow your body to heal. Your PREMIERE surgeon will provide you with full instructions on how to care for your eyelids to ensure proper healing.
Is Eyelid Surgery Painful?
Blepharoplasty is performed under local or general anesthesia to ensure there is no pain during the operation. Patients can expect to experience some discomfort after the anesthesia wears off that will continue from a few days up to one week. Any discomfort can be alleviated with prescribed or over-the-counter pain medication.
Patients should keep their heads elevated at all times to ensure proper blood circulation. This will also help to reduce pain.
Will I Have Scars After My Eyelid Surgery?
Although there is no way to prevent scars during surgery, your PREMIERE surgeon will make your scars as inconspicuous as possible. For upper blepharoplasty, the scars will be hidden in the natural folds of the eyelid, and for lower blepharoplasty, they will be just beneath the eyelid. These scars can be concealed with makeup and will fade over time.
How Much Is Eyelid Surgery?
The cost of your eyelid surgery varies by patient to patient. A total cost estimate of your eyelid surgery will be provided during your consultation, once your surgeon has had a chance to evaluate your skin and determine a treatment plan. This price estimate will include surgeon’s fees, facility fees, anesthesia fees, and pre-l and post-surgical tests and appointments.
