Their cannoli is amazing!!! The only bad thing about it was finishing it.
My family and I came in after eating at a different restaurant but after trying their cannoli, we will definitely be back for dinner. It was truly one of the best cannolis we have ever eaten. The only thing I would recommend is I would like to see them introduce a pistachio flavor (they have chocolate chip and almond).Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Gina T.Ventura, CA943833629May 3, 2019
What a great mom and pop restaurant. This is definitely a local spot. My bestie recommend this restaurant in Newberry park. The owner introduced himself and said he's been in the restaurant business over 27 years and he said he took ownership less than 1 year ago.
The restaurant is located in a shopping mall across from a beautiful kids park, very lush and green scenery. Located off the 101 freeway. Borchard exit. Easy on and off.
The restaurant is closed between 230-430p Mon thru Friday. Saturday and Sunday different hours. Sat open 12-9p. Sunday open 430-830p.
You order at the counter and seat yourself.
I loved the outside patio. Today is a beautiful day to sit outside. The food was good. My friend shared her spaghetti Bolognese and she said Its her favorite. The Bolognese had a buttery flavor. My husband said his steak sandwich was fresh and big. I ordered the eggplant and it was good. They sell lemonade, Soft drinks and wine list.
And now for the best part "dessert."
With my yelp check in I was offered my choice of chocolate or almond free connoli. The owner said they also had tiramisu, but not part of the free check in. The other yelp tiramisu pictures looked good, but I settled on the connoli, because my husband would give me a funny looked if I ordered another dessert...next time;)Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Mariah M.Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, CA274186232Mar 7, 2018
So I thought this place was just okay. Nothing was bad, but nothing was outstanding either. I came here for a pre race pasta dinner. So I ordered the fettuccini Alfredo with mushrooms. Mushrooms were not a part of the menu options as an add on so I just asked and they were able to put it on. The pasta was good. A little too creamy for me but still pretty good. Very filling since it's also the Alfredo sauce. I also got a side soup with it. I chose the minestrone soup. To be honest the soup was bland. I didn't like it. Another thing is that they serve bread before the meal. That was good. Bread is always good. And I'm not a big olive oil and balsamic vinegar person but I really liked their flavor of that dip. So I ate a lot of the bread. So average good pretty much.
When I got there I was pretty confused. When you walk in there is no host person. But right in front there is a pick up and ordering station I believe for take out. So I gravitated towards there. No one helped me for a while so I went back to the front to see if anyone would notice. I had to get someone's attention and they finally had me sit at a table. The table was kind of dirty when I got there, crumbs were everywhere so I had to dust it off. On the bright side the people were really nice. And if you check in you get a free cannoli. Chocolate chip cannoli is great everyone. Parking is ample since they're in a complex.
Would I come here again? Probably for a cannoli and maybe a main dish (also was lent Friday so I had to refrain from meat and they had a lot of good meat options I wanted to try)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Thank you for taking the time to leave this candid feedback, Mariah. It's wonderful you enjoyed the pasta, but we're sorry about the confusion when you first entered the restaurant. We'll have a talk as a team about how to improve on this system for next time. I hope you'll give us another chance to impress you sometime down the road -- we know we can.
All the best,

Roma Italian Deli and Restaurant is absolutely on par with some of the best Italian restaurants this Chicago native has ever been to!
I ordered the homemade cheese ravioli with marinara sauce and opted for the vegan minestrone with a bowl of their famous vegan butternut squash soup to go.
Their portions are generous and the first bite of ravioli I knew this is the place to go to again and again! They have a nice menu
so we will have to try a lot of deliciousness!
The marinara sauce brought me back to Chicago and my dad's sauce that I can never seem to duplicate!
The soft bread "roll" which is like this cloud of a loaf of fresh out of the oven bread is to
go crazy over...I ate most of it on the way home LOL!
The butternut squash soup is famous for a reason...one sip and you'll know! Seriously!
I've been looking for a place that makes vegetarian soup and this is vegan! Ok so I should have ordered a gallon!
The minestrone soup is just as delicious and you know it's fresh and made with a lot of love! Vegan too! I should have ordered a gallon of that too!
On Thursday nights starting at 6 they have entertainment...an accordion player...I wish I could have stayed but there is always next week and you know where I'll be! ROMA!
I have actually been to Italy and the staff, the owner and the environment will make you feel like you just found the natives favorite spot!
While it is a very casual place...it's special!
Hey paisano what are you waiting for?!
Get there and it'll be your favorite new spot too!!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

This place has changed. Our server was a very pleasant young lady, although somewhat disinterested, and the place looked the same....However, it is decidedly different. The menu had changed. I had never really gone here a lot, now I will not return. I like soup. I order soup over salad a lot. Minestrone is a simple peasant soup, typically tomato based, noodles, kidney beans, zucchini, fresh vegetables, Italian herbs. This was carrots, watered down marinara and SUGAR. Period. Weird. So, I pushed it aside and the waitress came and took it. Never asked if there was anything wrong. The house bread was cold, stale and flavorless. Then came my chicken parmesan with bland, sticky, gummy mashed potatoes and under cooked vegetables. The chicken was over cooked, dry and gloopy, covered in overly sweet red sauce and cheese. I ate all of the undercooked vegetables and ignored the other bad food on my plate. Waitress never asked why I didn't eat it. My husband had some weird trio of pasta dishes in red, white and green. His was equally tasteless. We had a good laugh about it, but it was an expensive giggle. I don't predict this place will make it.

Food is delicious! Everybody in our office loves the food.

Say it isn't so!!! New owner. Apparently a nice guy. Inexperienced person answering the phone. Even though I went over the order several times we - still got it messed up. I wish them well in their business and that they get it all straightened out because it's our favorite place.

Phillip Hariot, OwnerMay 18, 2017Previous reviewWe have been eating here for 20 plus years. From the sandwiches to the salads, pizza to the pasta and specialty main courses - consistently delicious, quality food and great service. We pick up to eat home or dine in on a regular basis.
We went there on Monday and had the clams in a to die for cream sauce as an appetizer. (Order them, now!) I ordered the personal size pizza margarita and added prosciutto - delicious! My husband had the ribeye with the pepper sauce and he made it disappear in record time.
They have awesome specials, too. Great place! - Darrel S.Bakersfield, CA333320Jul 28, 2018
We ordered the cheesey garlic bread to start with. Wasn't our favorite, had 1 slice of cheese over the bread with barley a hint of garlic. Expected a lot more cheese and garlic on it. For dinner we had the Stromboli which was huge!! We each got one but should have just split 1 order as it's massive. The Alfredo sauce it comes with for dipping is pretty good too. Over all we had a good experience and would go back to try other things.

I came today-after referrals by two people.
I ordered the Cuban sandwich (no cheese please) and a side of pasta salad (which I had been craving).
Came home-opened my sandwich and found globs of cheese. Called and drove back to get the new sandwich.
Came home again and took a bite and it was tasty.
Took bite of pasta salad-and immediately tried to tame the sweetness of the dressing by rinsing the pasta in hot boiling water; toss my won dressing in; added lemon and vinegar. Ended up throwing it away.
I really wanted to like this place but-besides the very sweet lady that helped me-and the ok sandwich-service-I'll most likely not come back.
Pasta salad isn't supposed to be that sweet. That's like "down south" kinda sweet. A tiny bit added to calm acidity bit to turn pasta into sweet/sour mixture. Odd. I don't recall any region in Italy that makes this dressing....Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lee J.Newbury Park, CA023Mar 4, 2020
This place needs a serious make over. Drab and tired. Ordered Marsala chicken and it was dreadful. Sauce was really dark and glue like. How this gets four stars??? Food and decor need big time help.
